Ghostface Killa would be good

also

Raekwon

and

Genius/GZA

Not so fussed about the beastie boys, seen them before, even at Glastonbury in 94.

MF doom would be amazing except for the fact that a) it's not always him under the mask and b ) i thought that last album had a couple of pretty unpleasant homophobic tracks.

Thinking about there are very few rappers big enough to headline the Pyramid, in America maybe but not here.

Who do we have....?

Jay-Z - He did well but not the best choice

Eminem - Yep, he could do it

50 Cent - God no!

Kanye West? - Yep, he could do it

Nelly? - Are you kidding?

My reaction would be, oh dear here we go again, if it aint broke......

Glastonbury's hippie roots are what makes it unique and what has made it one of the greatest festival in the world.

2008 came near to failure (hear ME comments about his worry) because of low ticket sales and the reason was JZ. Why risk such a great event in the name of PC and inclusiveness.

Hip-Hop/Rap is to be honest, not my bag, but I have no problem with it being at Glastonbury or a headliner (pyrimid/other). If it don't grab my fancy at the time, there are plenty of other things to see/do so I don't have a problem with it, and don't see why the fans of Hip-Hop/Rap should miss out on seeing their heros up there with the best 'usual suspects' headliners.

Low ticket sales wasn't to do with hip-hop, it was the fact that not many UK festivalgoers are fans of (specifically) Jay-z. Kanye West and Eminem have a lot more mainstream popularity in this country. If they were to headline ticket sales would be fine.

There are plenty of people (many of which are GF veterans and have a good idea of the spirit of the festival) who want to watch hip-hop acts. So why not book them?
