Sorry my age group ruined the festival everyone!

OK so I get that a lot of people are pissed off with "what the festival has become" but really, what I've come to dislike most here is the non-acceptance of the way others have a good time. So apparently teenagers spoilt a lot of the festival. Well sorry for not being 40! I suspect if you were a teenager now then you would act in the same way, I'm not sure what we as a collective group did wrong but from what I could see of the people my age that I met we were all having a bloody good time minding our own business. There's the Peaches Geldof clones, who even annoy me a little, but not enough for it to ruin the festival! Glasto is really expensive, I had to spend a whole month's wages and then some on my ticket, so it's only natural that it will be the young people who come from a more middle class background, and so-called "rahs" as they are collectively known will be prevalent. The thing is, they need to be "glastocised", many first timers don't get the festival thing to start with, and if they don't by the end of the fest then they are unlikely to come back. You have to give us all a break, we're young, we do things a bit different and sorry if you don't like this but I'm sure you can avoid the peaches geldofs or alternatively don't let it get to you. CHILL OUT!

(and to anyone who pipes up that I'm not a typical teenager, it's cos I'm talking about the middle class ones, something I could never claim to be)

if you read through, most of the stuff is positive about younger people, there's only a few miserable c**ts moaning. Far more typical is people going 'it was cool, they're cool'.

some people just don't "get" glasto and i don't think it has anything to do with age. i woke up one morning to one of our neighbours swearing his head off because 'there was rain on [his] tent'. wtf.

i had an absolutely fantastic time but for me it didn't top 08, because that's when glasto was no longer 'cool', the rain from the year before put off people in their thousands and consequently the people who were there were the ones who loved glastonbury for its own sake and you could feel that in the vibe of the place.

I only saw 2 examples of w*nkerdom all weekend - neither were teenagers and both were in the dance village. I honestly think dance music seems to attract knobheads and the intollerant these days - never used to be like that.

I did see many many acts of random kindness and spoke with more strangers than I can count - all of whom were great company and good fun.

Thought the flags at the main stages were out of order as you can't see f**k all from halfway back, but then I didn't spend much time round them. I prefer the smaller venues, looking for unsigned acts and gems.

I think most of the people moaning about teenagers are old farts who have forgotten they they were once such !!!!!!!! I thought it was ace seeing so many young people having a great time. Dont forget teenagers on mass can be noisy, loud and exuberant, we all were - some of us still are

Good OP, didn't see anything age specific in the few people who were w*nkers there, never have either.

The only thing that pissed me off about the teenagers there was that seeing them made me think 'god, don't they look young these days', which in fact is just a reminder that i'm getting older.

So yeah, apart from reminding me of my own mortality, you teenage types were fine, hope you enjoyed it!

I'm 23, so I'm guessing probably the average age of glasto goers. As a rule no one at the festival pisses me off. However there are one group of people who I think the festival could do without.

People generally between the age of 35-50 who go in couples or with young kids, park their chair at the front of the pyramid and then get annoyed when people try to push past them or start going mental. This happened during blur, a middle aged lady asked my friend to stop knocking into her in parklife, which tbh just inspired all of us to go pretty much insane during song 2.

These people are also the ones who talk to you like you're an idiot because you're stoned/pissed/both and block your way as you're walking through crowds, they usually have the biggest flags, the biggest camps (complete with gazebo and cordon) and the biggest trolleys, they complain when you wake them up at 6am before going to bed and shout at your when you trip on their guy lines. (who the hell uses guy lines at glasto, its asking for trouble)

There aren't many of them, but they are the worst people at the festival.

If you go to a music festival you should expect rough crowds, beer, drugs and spending a lot of your time squashed or you're not going to have fun.

The dance village does have a few idiots but they're generally so mashed I can excuse it.

I didn't see many, but the few anti-socials I came across were older than teenage, and old enough to know better - and my only gripe was these people pushing and barging, especially in crushes.

A few years ago I used to see big groups of teenage lads camped together (12-15 lads, all cordoned off, keeping to themselves, not saying hi even though we were camped by them, etc), and that all seemed quite antisocial. I didn't see any of that this year.

I thought it was a great mix of ages this year, and a really friendly vibe, better than the last few years.

My husband, my 1 year old daughter and I chatted to loads and loads of "young people" over the weekend and were met with nothing but positivity and friendliness. I don't see what age has to do with it, twats are twats whatever their age, we were lucky enough not to meet any.

That's what makes Glastonbury so amazing! When else are you going to sit and chat with people 20 years younger than you and then 5 mins later chat with people 20 years older than you and find that you something special in common....a passion for music. It's brilliant and long may it continue.

BTW, if the prawn people are out there, cheers for entertaining our daughter with your nutty dancing at Klaxons on The Park stage

It's your job. Im 43 and you're not - god forbid we should like the same stuff and enjoy the festival in the same way.

As a 30 something (and in a couple), I had a great festival and this was made mainly by the people I met and spent time with (massive age range from late teens through to ppl in their 50's).

The only one time I had a problem with a teenager was when he tried as he might to push past me in a bottleneck in the markets when it was really thick and sticky mud in the most crowded place I experienced the whole festival. Having recently recovered from major stomach surgery (which he wasn't to know about) and him pushing so violently in such horrid conditions, I have to say I was probably the least forgiving person at that precise moment. But that was one person acting so inconsiderately, and the only teenager who I saw like that the whole festival.

Like others, it was people within their 20's and 30's that seemed to be most horrid - I'd hate to see the state of their homes, because if they treated them as they did the festival then they must be right shiteheaps.
