Sorry my age group ruined the festival everyone!

When i was a teenager I got too drunk, too often, and had a great time. I don't remember, but I probably pissed a few people off.

But that was my job, as someone less than 20, and I was delighted to see so many of the modern day equivelant carrying on this proud tradition.

I bet EVERYONE who brought a bloody flag was over 19.

OK so I get that a lot of people are pissed off with "what the festival has become" but really, what I've come to dislike most here is the non-acceptance of the way others have a good time. So apparently teenagers spoilt a lot of the festival. Well sorry for not being 40! I suspect if you were a teenager now then you would act in the same way, I'm not sure what we as a collective group did wrong but from what I could see of the people my age that I met we were all having a bloody good time minding our own business. There's the Peaches Geldof clones, who even annoy me a little, but not enough for it to ruin the festival! Glasto is really expensive, I had to spend a whole month's wages and then some on my ticket, so it's only natural that it will be the young people who come from a more middle class background, and so-called "rahs" as they are collectively known will be prevalent. The thing is, they need to be "glastocised", many first timers don't get the festival thing to start with, and if they don't by the end of the fest then they are unlikely to come back. You have to give us all a break, we're young, we do things a bit different and sorry if you don't like this but I'm sure you can avoid the peaches geldofs or alternatively don't let it get to you. CHILL OUT!

(and to anyone who pipes up that I'm not a typical teenager, it's cos I'm talking about the middle class ones, something I could never claim to be)

I would say the tossers i saw were probably a mix, the biggest tosspot i came across was in his mid 30's thats near my age group,jabbing me in the back whilst in a crush, when telling him to chill out he went mental....you get them at any age, class and race.

I don't think teenagers ruined anything. A spoontard is a spoontard whatever age they are. I did have to suggest Mr MSA chilled his bean once during Blur after being beaten with a rucksack for about 10 minutes by 'Borat' (his words not mine) and 'Borat' was about 40, Mr MSA is a thirtysomething.

I had a couple of misery moments (not any nastyness to people moments though) and was probably responsible for bringing people down with my sad face and I am a thirty something. I was being a cock and I see that now. I soon learned after friday if its getting a bit much in any way, go to the Greenfields and just chill.

I didn't see any trouble with teenagers apart from that Nyika she was a right pain (I'm joking! hehe It was a pleasure to meet you!)

I've been going since I was 16, I'm now 21 and I've never had anyone act negatively towards me just because of my age. Most teenagers are respectable and mature, the ones that aren't are usually with their parents so have to go back to the tent and to bed early!

I think the mix of age groups makes Glastonbury what it is.

The loveliest thing at The prodigy was I was completely smashed on vodka and redbull (all I had left) and turned round to the boy behind me and asked for a hug and instead of him thinking I was a total weirdo we had a lovely hug and it made me feel much better for having hurting feet!

Im a teenager at glasto, and i will admit, im normally off my face on something whilst im there but i honestly cant recall being nasty to anyone. I did push a few people aside in a crush, but thats because the poor lass infront coundnt breathe so i made her some space.

I was made up to see more young people at Glastonbury this year. It's a positive thing for the festival, the festival needs to attract people from every age group. Young people can definitely help to enhance the atmosphere:

I'm 23, so I'm guessing probably the average age of glasto goers. As a rule no one at the festival pisses me off. However there are one group of people who I think the festival could do without.

People generally between the age of 35-50 who go in couples or with young kids, park their chair at the front of the pyramid and then get annoyed when people try to push past them or start going mental. This happened during blur, a middle aged lady asked my friend to stop knocking into her in parklife, which tbh just inspired all of us to go pretty much insane during song 2.

These people are also the ones who talk to you like you're an idiot because you're stoned/pissed/both and block your way as you're walking through crowds, they usually have the biggest flags, the biggest camps (complete with gazebo and cordon) and the biggest trolleys, they complain when you wake them up at 6am before going to bed and shout at your when you trip on their guy lines. (who the hell uses guy lines at glasto, its asking for trouble)

There aren't many of them, but they are the worst people at the festival.

If you go to a music festival you should expect rough crowds, beer, drugs and spending a lot of your time squashed or you're not going to have fun.

The dance village does have a few idiots but they're generally so mashed I can excuse it.

I don't think teenagers ruined the festival at all. The people who ruined the festivals are definately the stuffy old folk who refuse to let you even speak FFS!! I was watching Neil Young and chatting to my mates, not shouting but probablt slightly louder than you do when your leathered and watching a band, and this horrible bint in front of us kept telling us to pipe down any time we started speaking! I could not help but pointing out that we were at a festival and if she wanted to listen to Neil Young in quiet then she should dig out fer casio tape player and hum along to Harvest Moon in peace!! Could not believe it, I was singing along and getting frowned at every 5 seconds...in which turn made me do it even louder. So don't worry, we are 24, 27 and 30 and even we got frowned upon!!
