How can Glasto be improved in 2010?

Ask the BBC to stop blocking fest vids clips on youtube. sometimes we amateurs get better shots than they do, because we blend well into the crowds...+ we use our imaginations. *we* pay the bbc wages. *they* should recognise that times have changed and with them broadcasting. it's much less top down these days. also, *we* pay to get in. *they* are basically well paid scroungers. blocking our vids is a disgrace. there has to be a compromise...maybe we pay them homage in return for the vids to stay up. *but* they should listen to us. we pay their wages. i will raise this subject with ME a little way down the line and hope he listens.

What's that, scorp? They're flagging any Glasto performance vids for removal? B*stards.. Telegraph had an article today about how the BBC sent the same number of people to Glasto as to the Olympics, well over 400! Freeloaders, slash the licence fee I say.

And another point of my own to add: make some of the toilet areas female-only. If the men have their urinals, can we not have the odd bank of portaloos for us girlies only? I know there is the She-Pee area at the Pyramid but some of us have not made that step forward in our festival ablutions

have a soundsystem in Dance West that works! or at least one they can play loud enough. i was there for Josh Wink, and for some reason he was asked to turn it down about 10 minutes into his set. it was so quiet, and the crowd were letting him know, that he turned his monitor speakers around to face the front of the audience. i was near the back (the tent was only about 1/3 full, so not that far back), but could hear the difference they made. i went back on Sunday for Beat Torrent and it was just as poor. when your monitors can add to the main sound system, something is badly wrong!

i thought a lot of the dance village's sound was quiet compared to last year.

That was my first Glasto, had an awesome time, but the toilets were the worst I've seen at any festival. They were absolutely rancid. More regular cleaning should be implemented, if possible, or ditch the long drops - they're shocking.

I think the long-drops are, all things considered, a brilliant idea. They just need cleaning more often and have better flooring around them (imo).

Ask/Force the traders to reduce the price of the bottled water. Sorry, but at a festival where the taps are surrounded by mud and piss - I ain't drinking the tap water. We took loads of our own but this still ran out quickly so ended up spending a fortune on water.

Sort out the soundclashes. They moved the Queens Head because of its locaton to the Other stage but the sound coming from the Glade is 10 times worse than that. I was to the left of the Other stage listening to what sounded like a remix version of all Bon Iver's songs. It was far too loud. Took the shine off of a completely beautiful set.

the guide should have loads more stages in it, needs to be just a listings/timetable thing, we don't need a page of blurb on who the headliners are and why we should see them, I want to know what acts are on where and when. The programme can tell me about them.

don't put the f**king rugby on at the meeting point. how are you suppossed to meet people at the meeting point if you can't get near it for people watching rugby/ d'oh!

Shift that hospitality area so it doesn't cause problems getting around for the people who bought their tickets.

Apart from that, I don't think there's a lot more that I can add. Yes, there are idiots, but those aren't the fault of the organisers.

Let's ban drink and drugs (search everyone on the way in). Let's ban lying or sitting anywhere within 200 yards of a stage. Let's not leave it at mankinis, let's ban all fancy dress. And if we're worried about flags annoying people, let's ban singing along to an artist - I wanted to hear Damon Albarn singing 'Tender', not several tens of thousands of people who cant sing.

Let's reduce the number of stages (because if you're reducing tickets by 20,000 there is a shortfall in income and you want more bands on the mainstage, so something has to give).

Let's ban late night night entertainment so that those who want a good night's sleep aren't disturbed. Let's ban Arcadia and Shangri La and Trash City because there might be kids about and there is stuff about there the young 'uns shouldn't see. Let's ban prams because they get right in the way in a crowd.

Definitely need to work some more on the water tap situation. Some urinal places still don't have any water taps at all . Make ALL the taps into ones that need to be pressed to flow but don't flow for very long at all after you let go. Both to save water, stop numpties clogging up the sinks while they wash their hair for ten minutes, and stop the lakes of mud that form near the big water bottle taps that aren't drained so well. You can still fill a water bottle you just have to keep your hand on the tap while you do it.

Sort out the toilets at Shangri La, definitely need simple urinal facilities there and leave the long drops free for the girls.

Actually just get rid of Shangri La and put Lost Vagueness or last year's version of SL back. SL was too clever for it's own good this year.

Sack the person that writes the stage line up summaries in the programme. It's obviously someone that knows all about all the bands, very knowledgeable about them, and makes the fatal assumption that we're as knowledgeable as they are, but unfortunately we aren't. When trying to decide what acts to go and see, stuff like "it's the man who wears a hat" or "ice cream loving fun boys" is utterly useless. You've got about twenty words to say about each act, use them to tell us what sort of music they play etc, instead of nonsense.

Ban all tents larger than 3-man. That's right, no more of those multi-room things that need a field of their own each.

Bring the open air cinema back.

Metal Trakway ALL the main campsite paths, no exceptions.

More variety in the food, bin off all the rubbish ripoff noodle places and fairground burger vans.

Traffic management on the way in is the biggest issue for me.

How about some sort of priority route or opening the gates an hour earlier for those arriving on site by bus / coach. It would encurage more people to use public transport reducing traffic and been good for the enviroment at the same time.

I felt sorry for the poor coach drivers stuck in traffic for 10 hours when their just doing their job and don't even want to go to the festival. Plus theres the legal issue that I think he was forced to go over his allowed driving hours. I think there is a risk this could put coach companys off doing the festival at all or drive up prices.

Of couse it would be especialy great for me since i usualy get the coach down

p.s. It seems coaches already have an advantage on the way out as there is no queue to get out of the carparks.

why was it constantly wet around the longdrops?? the one by on the way up to the park by the 24 hr shop was awfulllllll. it was dry everywhere else bar that part of the path and it STUNK more than the actual toilets!!!!!

the bus could be improved but i wont be using that again. the trouble gettin there put me off for life. oh and the phones thing.
