Fair?

This may seem a little childish but is my first Glastonbury and i've noticed at some other festivals there tends to be a little fair, I've not been on a fair for years and just wondered if there is one there as a little somethin to do when bands have finished.

I reckon the waltzers/eggs could be quite fun after several drink-e-poohs.

Haha I know, I just get these random urges when i want to do somethin and i think this is my latest one.

The eggs are like a big wheel but have egg shaped carriages rather than the usual ones which you can spin round all the way. Imagine the london eye but those balls the people sit in spin like a hamster ball!

There's an old-fashioned style big wheel or Ferris wheel- where the little carriages are between the two big circles of it- and it's next to the comedy tent, behind the Jazz World stage. We got there, just as it was starting up so didn't have to queue, if there's a huge queue it's not worth waiting for, you don't see much more of the site than you normally do but it was pretty cool

There is also a weird, swing thing with a case which spins in the opposite direction

Imagine Hex in Alton Towers scaled down by a million percent and you're nearly there

it was fun after a drink or four mind

If i remember correctly it wasnt far from the ferris wheel

Its more Victorian stylee with freak shows and burlesque, there was a human Ghost Train a few years back. But alas the swingboats have not been seen for 5 years! There was a maze somewhere out East as well.

If you want a funfair go to one of the commercial fests eg V or Global!

And remember if you want to find these things you have venture far from Babylon...;)

The dodgems, used to be where the circus is now by the market, I didn't see them last year. The Ferris wheel was always behind the cabaret tent. There are swing boats in the kids field the adult ones have not been there for years

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
