Depeche Mode agree to play...

interesting.

Not sure if having the record label there will mean anything substantial, but as mute records is also nick cave's label, would that also perhaps give some weight to ivan's list which had him playing.

Also Daydream Nation was released on a sublabel of mute, so might perhaps strengthen the sonic youth rumours...

edit: hadn't read neil's post, when I posted this.

Given that this story came out in the timeframe that Emily was talking about for the 'big, last minute change', could there be more truth in it than first thought?

I very much doubt it - the Scum's DM story came from a PR man, not an agent or the band.

I've been warned by 'people in the know' that it shouldn't be believed.

(That's not a guarantee that it's wrong btw, but I do think it's likely to be wrong).

tour dates for 2009 listed here:

http://www.depeche-mode.com/home/tour-of-the-universe-2009/

JUNE

23 - Budapest, Puskas Ferenc Stadium (Hungary)

25 - Prague, Eden Stadium (Czech Republic)

27 - Paris, Stade De France (France)

28 - Nancy, Zenith Amphitheatre (France)

so the only possible date would be friday 26th, and I doubt prague->glastonbury->paris is feasible.

    • Hezbollah rejected it. Really Israel should get the f**k out, and US and others should support the Lebanese govt in defeating Hezbollah.
