  1. Soft Play and Dutty Moonshine are good additions. As for the 'shouty' bands, I find a polite request to 'keep it down a bit' works wonders..
  2. More special guests than secret sets but during the Blossoms set, Mel C will joining them to do a Spice Girls cover. Confirmed on bbc this morning. Liam Gallagher on twitter says Dave Grohl will be joining Noels set.. Maybe take that with a pinch of salt!
  3. Cheers for the video. Helps jog the memory bank! A great weekend and my 8 year old loved it for his first festival.. He is already talking about next year...
  4. The medical emergency that prompted the air ambulance was due to a chap suffering acardiac arrest in the campsite. Fortunately my girlfriend who is medically trained and a off duty paramedic were camping nearby and were able to perform CPR. The onsite medical team were also quickly present and were able to bring him back. We have had positive updates on the chaps recovery at Derby Hispital. We'll done to all the medical teams plus the first responding campers.. Hope the chap continues to improve health wise.
  5. OK, cheers. I will take it along and hopefully they will be allowed to fill it....
  6. Yep, getting closer now folks.....Beer purchased yesterday (morrisons doing 30 cans for £20 deal), tent is out and will put up tomorrow to check in working order plus hero fancy dress sorted. Also bought a tankard as don't like drinking out of cans which begs the leftfield question of if anyone knows if the bar staff will be allowed to pour a pint directly into the tankard I bring? Saves a waste of plastic but not sure of the hygiene considerations..... Now if I can just sort this back pain out before I start moshing that would be just dandy.....
  7. Made my first purchase today for the festival, going to try some rehydration tablets for the first time to see if it reduces the hangovers. Thing is, I may be too drunk to remember to take them before going to bed! If they work then also come in handy as going to Glastonbudget festival just 3 days after I get back from Bearded... Any idea if rehydration tablets will dissolve in juice/lucozade as don't fancy the taste of salty lemon water?
  8. Good idea on the copy of the kids ticket, will sort that out now....First time for my 7 year old at a festival so not sure how it will go to be honest. I think he will love it but know it's going to be a different experience for me. Pros and Cons I guess....Can't wait....
  9. I'm in the same boat, pitching the tent on the Thursday afternoon and the family joining me after school on the Friday. Hope I can pitch in the family field by explaining the situation and pretty confident there won't be an issue. Will just have a bag containing sticker books, ear defenders, and Freddo's* to prove my son will be joining me. *The Freddo's are actually for me....
  10. Ha, who need the NME or Melody Maker after this summary. Well played... 😆
  11. Reminds me that I must start listening to the Spotify playlist... Must see for me this year are Ferocious Dog - Always a top live band and interested to see the new line up in action Peter Hook - Love Joy Division and New Order so can't wait to hear those sonss played Frank Turner Frank Carter - Like the energy of the live sets Dubioza Kolektiv - I challenge anyone not to have a dance to these The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican - Seen a few times and always good value for a laugh and nice guys to boot..
  12. I for one am getting exited now as the countdown gets closer. Attended a few in the early days but not been to one since 2014. Be different for me as will have my 8 year old son in tow. His first festival and can't think of a better introduction due to the kid friendly nature of it. My first time at this venue so can't wait to see the layout and only heard good things about the Woodland stage from my sister who has attended every year it's been held. Think it was about 2009 I attended an unofficial efestivals meet up and was one of the strangest experiences of my life involving lots of dope and people just staring into space! Another clear memory was being in a Portaloo when the Tornado hit many years ago thinking someone was trying to push it over...Fortunately, it stayed upright... See you in a field in Derbyshire....
  13. Tickets sorted...Not been for a few years as normally clashes with Glastonbudget which my gang prefer....Can't wait. Going to be different though as taking my 7 year old...Can't think of a better festival to take a child to based on previous experience. See you in a field!!!
