2003 - dry Wednesday.

2004 - rained on Wednesday.

2007 - very soggy ground Wednesday after crazy Tuesday weather, and rained on queueing.

2008 - rained on queueing on Wednesday.

That's what I was talking about - the absence of insecurity about the first few days is a luxury this year.

This time in 2007, J1 (as I like to call him) had this

Glastonbury is nearly upon us and if you have read this blog regularly, you will know that the start of the festival will be wet or very wet, the only doubt remains as to the extent of the rainfall and whether it will start to turn a little drier towards the end of the festival.

I don't remember it raining at all on Wednesday last year, I got in the q to get onto the site at about 8am, and I got sunburrrrrrrrrrrrnt queueing up to get in, I don't remember it raining until Thursday.

Rain later in the festival means less time for all the trampling feet to churn up the mud. Personally I think we're in for a SCORCHER though.

Did anyone see the program on Glasto last year where Michael Eavis was talking about the trees blossoming (flowering, whatever trees do) and he said "Oak before Ash, we're in for a splash, Ash before Oak, we're in for a soak"...........anyone know which tree hit puberty first this year?!!

well, we have ensembles at last again today and they look good precipitation wise. that early green spike is the only run going for rain overnight on the 23rd, cannot see that one verifying and as you can see the green line and other runs are all flat upto 28th with one or two runs going for rain sunday night

The weather will be fine and dry for most of the country, with any patchy rain and drizzle in northern Scotland clearing by Thursday. North Sea coasts may be affected by some cloud, and a brisk easterly wind may affect parts of the south, but the warm and dry weather is expected for most of the country, and is set to continue into the weekend. Temperatures will be warm or very warm although it will feel cooler on the coasts as sea breezes develop during the day. There is a chance of some heavy, thundery showers in the south east towards the end of the weekend. The risk of thundery showers continues into next week, although some drier spells are also expected. Temperatures falling a little.
