Word reaches eFestivals from one of our regular very good sources that Bruce is almost definitely the Saturday headliner.

Also, that Blur will be the Sunday headliner providing that they all stay as bessie mates again for a while longer, but that they'll be no Radiohead.

More info if/when we have it.

Have just cancelled a weekend at the British Grand Prix and booked two tickets for Glastonbury, on the back of the article in the Guardian today about Bruce at Glastonbury

Have always wanted to do Glastonbury - and now I am

Have seen bruce about 15 times - Live, he is stunning !!!!

Cant wait - Glasto newbie ready & waiting.

And even if the rumour turns out to be wrong - I am made up I am finally going.

the new Springsteen rumour...can Neil (or anyone) give us some background to where this came up? I see that it seems it might be an Isle of Wight vs. Glastonbury thing, one or the other...

It would be marvelous to have the Boss at Glastonbury, Sunday night to close things out, but I just don't want to get needlessly excited about it. It could make sense in that having a new record out so quickly (Jan, 09) and touring again might mean he would want to try to do something different when he hits the UK in the Summer, rather than the same old stadiums (although he hasn't played Wembley since '88) . Would be gutted if he did IOW instead of Glastonbury. Would be gutted if we find out soon that there is no substance to the rumour though. No mention of it at all on www.backstreets.com, and they were quick to refute the Springsteen Glasto rumours from a few years back.

but, if true, this could be an incredible Glastonbury as far as headliners go....

Fri - Blur

Sat - Radiohead

Sun - Springsteen and the E Street Band (preceded by 'special guests' Neil Young)

Whatever the debate about aged acts etc etc there is ABSOLUTELY no doubt in my mind that Bruce Springsteen is categorically one of the best outdoor live acts in the world ...... ever and therefore he will totally suit Glastonbury

These days Neil Young can be a bit hit and miss but is worth a chance

I am not too familiar with the music of Blur ( just one of those things) - but hey what a great chance to see and listen to something new ( to me)
