Just posted this on Bestival forums but I thought I'd share the love on here................

Red Funnel Ferries have just given me a 20% discount.

Website says you need to book before the 31st March but I've just booked now & got my return journey for £62 instead of £78 !!!

Yippee, happy days. More beer money ;)

All you have to do is put SB300 into the promotion code field and off you go.

Good luck - hope it still works for you

How long does it ususally take for bestival tickets to sell out?

I'm thinking of saving up to go to this fest instead of using the money I already have got for a blissfeilds ticket, plus that means that I could go there with my friend which would be much nicer. It's only a thought as I said but what do you guys reckon I should do?

Cheers,

First Time @ Bestival for me and Mrs JUWWI, and really looking forward to it.

Have always wanted to make the effort to go and have always missed out on tickets. Line up looks perfect to me.

See you all there, Whoop Whoop!

I'm a little confused. What is the arena area? People always ask about an arena area at Glastonubry (which obviously there isn't) and I always thought they were a bit bonkers. I thought Bestival was all outdoors or in tents. Is it not? Is there actually an arena?

Also, if you can't take booze in the 'arena' (whatever that may be!) do you have to pay the ridiculously inflated prices at the bars?

So, re: the arena, is this where the bands play (I just assumed they would have a main stage which ws outdoors).

The rules are you're allowed 1 crate of beer & 1 litre of spirits that you have to take in the first time you enter the site, once you have a wrist band you're not allowed to take any booze in. This booze can only be drank in the campsite & you're to buy booze inside the arena.

In reality, as long as you're not blatantly taking the mickey you can pretty much get away with taking a few cans into the arena. Security don't really go through your bag, just don't be swigging it on the way through and they're pretty relaxed and will turn a blind eye.

There's quite a few bars in the arena (including a Brothers, yummy, but they don't do festival strength, I found it quite bizarre I took my own festival strengh cider to a festival as you couldn't buy it there  ). You don't have to buy tokens or anything daft like that & there's not usually much of a queue to get served. Prices are reasonable for draught lager/ cider but a bit expensive in the real ale tent by the band stand.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
    • Taxi mafia running their usual scam.
