  1. I definitely got some somewhere in the vicinity of William's Green late one night in 2017. Really great pickme up/sugar rush for that time.
  2. Transferred first load of funds into the account for my card which I will solely use for Glastonbury.
  3. The Divine Comedy last night - truly exquisite. Felt like an age ago that I bought those tickets for Mum and Dad and myself but my god was it worth the wait. Unsure if I can think of another gig I've been at that has sounded better too. And National Express was the closest I've ever seen the Philharmonic crowd go to full taps AFF.
  4. Completely caught me off-guard (although it doesn't honestly take much to make me cry). Just the way Chris said "they got taken away" - I was gone. And ever since when I've seen this clip, I just think about how this must have felt for anyone who knew and loved the Viola Beach members and I'm set off again.
  5. I've started sorting "Glastonbury clothes" into a box - just the fun stuff so far - so I can put some outfits together and see what's missing. Then sort the practical (but totally won't be necessary) wear for potential inclement weather...
  6. Very good point. I was going to do a second test over next week, trying to imitate "festival conditions" - those settings off, taking a number of photos - and see where that leaves the battery. Definitely can't see it falling to 25% each day, so you're right - the Anker will probably go a lot further. But I am a "prepare for the worst" type person!
  7. Have completed my charge test of recently purchased Anker PowercCore Essential 20,000 PD charger. On my Pixel 6, results were as follows: Pixel 40% - charged to full: Anker remains "100%" 17% - full: Anker at 75% (went down to 50 as soon as I plugged in the next night) 20% - full: Anker at 25% Plugged in for night 4 at 23% but Anker ran out of juice. Wake up with Pixel at 17%. All in all, pretty much as expected. Now I have to find my other powerbank and see if that can even manage one or two - though I doubt it on the Pixel - and then invest in another Anker.
  8. I watch this video again: https://youtu.be/EyoT6buTkZo To think, this was made when it was a love letter to a festival that couldn't go ahead.. I was so sad the first time I watched it. Now it is the ultimate hype generator.
  9. Definitely going to get in there for a lesson this year. The hype is real!
  10. @gigpusher I think it was you who first recommended the Good Girl's Guide to Murder series to me? I have to know - have you read the final instalment? I finished it this weekend and I have THOUGHTS. Still, again very happy that it seems to have maybe possibly pushed me out of my reading funk again. Downloaded a number of new titles to my tablet last week that I'm looking forward to getting into in the next month.
  11. This week I have found my sleeping mat and have started putting "Glasto stuff" all together in the spare room. Also bought a new power bank (may yet buy another..) and new backpack (infact the same one @squirrelarmy just recommended above). I also was sorting through my wardrobe for general "spring cleaning" reasons and have started identifying particular clothes/outfits to take to the festival, so I can fill in the gaps in the next two(!) months.
  12. Three moments from 2013 for me. Not the smallest of sets, nothing unique really in my experience, but pristine moments in my life that I revisit again and again. Chic on West Holts. This was my first Glastonbury, and I'd struck out on my own for most of that day and I decided - despite being a big AM fan in a 'seminal sound of my youth' kind of way - to go to West Holts instead. It was magic, and I found I was at home on my own in a crowd of thousands. Then the next night with my oldest friend at the Pyramid for the Rolling Stones. That was simply a victorious moment in our lives - one of those special confluences of the universe that won't be topped. Then the next day back at the Pyramid, on my tod once again, for Nick Cave. I was only just a burgeoning fan at that point but that set sold me.. Push the Sky Away became my soundtrack to the rest of that summer - and it was an amazing, entirely life-changing summer... all soundtracked and propelled on by memories of Glasto.
  13. I do love a funny TV fail and really needed a laugh this evening.. thank you for these!
  14. I think it was '85 and yes I think that's pretty much what she did.
  15. My fiancé's Mum went at some point in the mid-80s and hated it - all she's said to me about it is that she spent most of the time at her tent! Doesn't surprise me. She's quite alternative in her ways, but not a fan of anything too busy. Much like her son!
  16. Seems that many acts who were playing last night made a point to acknowledge Taylor's passing, or say a few words (Royal Blood, Liam Gallagher, Stereophonics, Sam Fender that I've heard about at least). But this from Elton is really nice. Mad to think but I'm certain that Taylor would have had no idea how he had touched the lives of so many rock and roll legends.
  17. Aahh so glad to see everyone's success in here! Hope this feeling is with you for a long time!
  18. Hope you have a great time! Just saw on his Instagram story that tonight "this one's for Taylor". Sure that a lot of shows going on tonight will be paying respect in some way.
  19. I've not once been successful at getting Glasto tickets, but I will be up tomorrow morning and will make my presence known in @deebeedoobee's thread to help out. Fingers crossed for everyone!
  20. Think it was just last week there was a brief discussion on here about their Wembley gigs in 2008. That show was such an important part of my life, for so long. It was such fun for it to be jogged to the front of my mind again. My fiancé is slightly confused as to why I am so torn up about this, and keep crying, as Foo Fighters haven't played a big part in my musical life since we've been together - but there's just something about those acts that were there for you during lonely, teenage years. Foo Fighters were a big part of that time for me - I can't even explain why but I know I walked a little bit taller, felt a little bit more confident, when I was moving through school with their tunes playing in my ears. And time after time, all I've ever heard about Taylor was that he was a super chill, humble guy who just loved music and drumming - and just was living his dream, and nailing it year after year. This pic is from when I saw them in Boston in 2011. Yet another fab night, that I will not forget.
  21. Genuinely really surprised how much I'm crying about this. 'My Hero' set me off again. Found this has a lot of the old fun interview stuff. The minute from 16:30.. ugh. Just so heartbroken for Dave.
  22. The way I gasped when I just saw that headline.. and now I'm actually crying. Such a likeable, talented guy. When I was a teen and in a Foo Fighters obsessed period, I watched so many interviews with him and Dave on YouTube and they always cracked me up, they became like a comfort thing. Genuinely can't believe this.
  23. Of those that I've seen, The Killers. Just a phenomenal set of tunes, the atmosphere was great, and we actually were int he tent with a view of the band. Even though I wasn't *at the festival, I got fully swept up in the Pulp at the Park excitement as I had friends there who were messaging back and forth and seeing it all over the web. Loved watching it when I got the chance.
  24. Congratulations! I've been trying for some friends but no luck. Hope you enjoy this buzz all the way until you get back on to the farm!
  25. Enjoy! And enjoy, if you decide to go this week too @circus92 Really was so great to be back at a big indoor arena show - realised my last one before last night was U2 in October 2018!
