yeah, it's not 2019 as I can't see my car and caravan - I was in the uppermost top right part of East camping, right in the corner - amazing quite spot, but sooooo far from gate c 🙂
  4. Mine (2006 T5) is at 223000 I bought it when it was at 198000 a few years ago, from a 'dealer' that bought it at auction - he was upfront about this. It was insanly cheap - £3200 but looked amazing. then when I was cleaning the inside I found loads of bottles of water, then a week later the low coolant light came on ... I replaced everything I could hoping it wasn'ty rhe head gasket, but alas, it was the head gasket. £1700 to replace, with some other engine mods thrown in, but it should be good for another 200k And yes, always use the annoyingly mega expesnive oil - the turbo needs it.
  5. ah, T5 wiring 🙂 theres loads more fun under the drivers seat too - if you are having issues with the passenger door deadlocking for fun, thats where to start looking.
  6. When I got last years, I put the envelope in a picture clip frame and hung it on my wall, so I knew where it was at all times 🙂
  7. I also cycle every year, I have a 1970s 'Shopper' BSA 20 that is so low geared I can cycle at pretty much walking pace. It's a mobile chair 🙂
  8. Like many things, the current way is the best compromise. They can't just issue a special second camper wristband otherwise people would just take them off inside the site, get someone to take them out and get others in for free. EPO is an option, but it would presumably require more infrastructure, so a pass out mini ticket on the way out is simple and effective. It's the same for all gates though, not just Gate C.
  9. I'll take my proper bed with a mattress over missing out on whatever happens between 4am and 11am ish 🙂
  10. Saw Bentley Rhythm Ace and Neds Atomic Dusbin on Friday in Brum. Yes, you read right, B.R.A played live in 2023, and they were blinding 😄 All three (Fuzz, Richard March and James from EMF) looked like they were having the time of their lives, Neds were amazing, but they are always amazing 🙂 Bought a BRA tshirt too, who knows when they'll tour again 🙂
  11. Wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

Jphn Hegley is always worth a watch, got a load of his stuff up on youtube now, all good 🙂
  13. There are plenty of reasons people are litterally barred from attending football grounds, this is one of the reasons you can't share your season tickets with whoever you like.
  14. Meeting friends that these days I only see in person at Glastonbury 🙂
  15. this was the last one I remember, 1997: mad thing is, prices of these have gone up so much, those would be well worth rebuilding today, but back then they were worth nothing, my current '78 cost me £300 in 2002, would be £7000 upwards today, £30000 if it was shiny.
  16. If they are using the cars that had for the Cinema thing, then I might pop over soon, there were a few there that had better panels and engines than some of my own project cars, wonder if JR would be up for a trade 🙂
  17. To the person I chatted to in one of the crew bars who was reading Wasp Factory for the first time, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did when I first read it (and I hope I didn't spoil anything by chatting about twists - I'd had a few beers, but I tried to be as un-spoiler as possible as far as I remember!)
  18. 'Giant Seaguls' are presumably one of the walkabouts? They are possibly my fave, potentially second only to the cavemen 🙂 Watching them descend on anyone walking with a bag of chips never gets old 🙂
  19. yeah, I remember (just about anyway) my first few festivals - rushing around doing and seeing as much as I could and looking at the old people just chilling and thinking "why are you here, you're missing everything" Now, as an old person, I see the 'yout' rushing around and think "chill out, you'll have more fun" 🙂 my U.O.: people who call the SW corner the 'naughty corner' are dullards.
  20. yep, I have stored my pushbike in one of the lockups one year when I forgot my bike lock.

    Glastocam!

I would like to apply to be that guys apprentice
  22. I'm in 🙂 Today is Day One of unhibernating my early 1980s 'Elaime' folding caravan. A good scrub to start with: A bit tidier 🙂 This is what it looks like whrn 'unfolded' : I'll open it up some point in the next few days and evict anything thats made a home in it, then see what parts need replacing - it's a wood frame with ali panels glued on, but it's so old all the wood is rotted, so every year, some part of it needs fixing up. Should be ready by June though 🙂
  23. Got my caravan out from it's hiding place at the bottom of the garden, ready for its annual clean, and to see whats been living in it since last year 🙂 I needed to move some slabs to move the car, and this chap was less than impressed at being woken up so early on a bamnk holiday: helped him out to a safer place away from car wheels and all is well 🙂
