I’d love to join, but since I’m in the Netherlands, can I?
-
What have you done today to get ready for Glastonbury 2023?

Booked the Eurotunnel and the hotels last night! -
I 100% agree with @she bangs the drums, the 2011 QOTSA show is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen and I’ve had zero regrets not going to Beyoncé. It was mental: fantastic setlist, a great crowd and the band was on fire. I watched the full Beyoncé show on iPlayer and while I can see it was epic, I definitely made the right choice.

Saw them in December and really enjoyed the show, so I'm looking forward to see them again at West Holts! Still have to give the live album a spin though.

Paid and can't f'in wait! 😄
-
Elton, Manics, Raye, Leftfield, Sparks

Juan Luis Guerra is playing in Madrid on June 30th, seeing him at West Holts (or anywhere at Glasto) would be a dream! Would be a perfect combo with Rosalía too.

10 - Tentacles, Ozric

Nope, got the same problem. QotSA at Glasto 2011 is one of the best shows I've ever seen and I'd love to do that again, but I'm not gonna miss the last opportunity to see Elton.

Edit: completely missed the festival in Norway and in Germany, so just ignore my five minutes of enthusiasm. Just noticed that Gojira have a gap in the European tour between June 20th (Spain) and June 27th (Estonia). Can hardly get more Glasto-shaped than that. Sure, they played there in 2019 too, but: a) their ideas match with Glasto’s b) they released an album since then, which takes aim at the crisis in the Amazon (see a) c) they supported GnR a few years ago. Not sure if that counts for anything. d) they’re one of the best metal bands around at the moment e) They did not release Pablo Honey. Long story short, they’re not coming, but the idea of this being possible got me excited. I did not have tickets in 2019, so I’d love to make up for that.

Guns n Roses will be announcing their 2023 world tour dates this week, according to the latest fanclub email.

I think I missed something. What info?

Saying there are virtually no new emerging acts and calling Ghost and Babymetal the only two bands that have "made an impact" (they had close to zero impact within the metal scene) does kinda show you're not really familiar with the current metal scene. I agree, only very, very few metal bands make it to headliner-status (even within the scene), but that's the nature of metal: it usually takes a long time for a band to climb the ladder, but when they reach the top, they're there to stay (as opposed to pop and hip hop, where three good singles could get you a decent spot on a festival and they forget about you in about two years).

Couldn't disagree more!

Wasn’t a big fan of his show in the Netherlands earlier this year, but this should be special!

Where do I sign? Switch YYY with KG+TLW and it would be perfect! (Going for The Park on Fri and The Pyramid on Sat and Sun)
-
Thanks, came here to ask this exact thing!
-
Queens of the Stone Age, Manic Street Preachers, Pulp, Juan Luis Guerra, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, The Music, The Smile, The Comet Is Coming, Madness (just not on the Pyramid), Tom Jones and just a whole bunch of new/exciting John Peel/West Holts acts. And Amenra or Laibach for some intense Shangri-La slots. Edit: Suede, good call!

Yes! Can't wait! And what a morning it was

Waaaaaaay past that stage already lol

Sounds awesome! My girlfriend has less than zero interest in paying buckloads to stay on a muddy field for 5 days, especially with our two kids, but if by some miracle she would be interested to join, I'd definitely book a pre-erected tent and go for as much 'luxury' as possible. Especially with the kids and all the stuff they need, I'd want to make it as easy on myself as possible. And yeah, it's quite a drive to get there, but the car does give you total freedom. You can make it easier on the kids (and yourself) by taking longer to get there, stopping frequently or just making it a 2 or 3 day road trip. Sure, the day after is hard, so we usually book a hotel in Bristol and drive back to NL (near the German border) on Tuesday after a good night of sleep. There are also lots of great hotels/B&B's closer to the festival site (and places like Wells or Glastonbury are definitely worth the trip while you're there). So tl;dr-version: never done it, probably will never happen, but I think if you just take everything slow and make as easy for yourself as possible, it will be epic!

Saw Rammstein (twice) and The Rolling Stones this week. All three gigs were great and I was surprised how good Mick Jagger was only three weeks after catching Covid.
-
Yeah, I emailed them last week and we will get our money back for the one bought with the tickets. 🙂 Feels like ages since we were on the field! Is it too early to get nervous for the ticket sale?

Don’t piss in the crowd at all. If you can’t hold it for the duration a show, pick a spot next to the toilets.
