Made it down this morning. Absolutely loved it. So weird to see the fields empty without all the mayhem. Parked at skate park, strolled down through st Mary’s gate , walked near pyramid was a good start. Took the path through left field and west holts to railway line. Went up to stone circle , and managed to find dragon for the first time. nipped through and headed to park , got up the hill at the back to get the viewpoint. Must note there is a lot of firing clays all over upper park , so maybe give that a swerve if you hear gunfire ha. Fortunately all was quiet when we were there. Cut through other field and headed back out via pyramid. Didn’t see Michael ha , barely saw anyone to be honest. Couple of dog walkers and a couple of people using metal detectors by other stage . thanks to everyone here for all the helpful tips x did a small prayer at the end for the resale gods took a view photos but only on phone camera so won’t win any awards ha . popped into Glastonbury town centre after for first time which was really nice . Lots of interesting shops to potter around. went up the Tor after too , amazing views from the top

Cheers guys , gonna need to up my orienteering game to make sure I can get back to the car after ha yeah would be really keen to see the pyramid , walk the railway track line , dip off into the fields each side of it, and particularly get up to stone circle and the ground high above park where the Glasto sign lives in festival time. always like to sit up there on Wed of festival on arrival and just look out over the festival, would be cool to see it when totally empty too

Thanks for the replies guys. Sounds like Parking by skate park for the win. Being a bit of a city boy , just trying to get a bit of clarity here. What if you are well behaved and respectful can you pretty much toddle around the whole festival site as you so wish (pyramid field , stone circle, railway line , picking out fav festival spots as you go ), obvs steering clear of any animals and / or fields with activity in, or is the private land thing a hard no no must we stick entirely to what are considered public footpaths with no deviation whatsoever? don’t want to break any rules , but also don’t want to short sell ourselves.

Hi guys the good lady and I are having a weekend away near Glastonbury this weekend. She is suggesting going for a country walk if the weather is nice/passable. Is it possible to go for a walk across the festival site this time of year? I have def seen threads here before about best way to do a site visit , and also rules to be respectful of etc , but no idea how to find them. could anyone link a thread or give me any tips ? thanks in advance maybe a pilgrimage will help with the resale gods ha

Emailed the festival team behind this one recently just to ask if any headliner/lineup confirmation is imminent. was looking at some other day festivals away from Bristol and didn’t want to buy tickets and commit to travelling to see an act just to see them pop up on my doorstep a couple of days later team came back saying they aren’t ready to announce quite yet but standard keep eyes on socials in coming weeks. so no news really , but if anyone like me was hoping it might be imminent it looks like could be a bit longer yet I guess they are probably focusing on shifting some love saves the day tickets at present anyway after that lineup announcement

Think there had been a change in bookers for the silver hayes area possibly 2 festivals back my mate used to do one of the 3 x silent disco channels on a Thursday each year but think last festival before last they stopped getting offered it due to a booking change don’t think they replaced him , just think they went in a different direction from silent disco

Yeah I reckon likely the case , altho will need to wait for times to confirm. Could be scope to see a bit of all three if you don’t mind a bit of a trek start of turnstile , chunk of idles, back for gorillaz

Pretty sure last year Bombay bicycle club were headliners on west stage and there was time to nip across to foals headlining east stage (main) so could be more of a turnstile vs idles clash I imagine

That XX / Boss one is awful, but then the Beach House / VW one is even worse i defnitetly noticed a lot of budget adverts a few years back were changing one note from a well known dance tune , presumably in and attempt to dodge paying a fee defnitelty remember a particular similar one of midnight city by M83 but forget the brand. Boss and VW have gone to extreme lengths to rip those off tho

Saw gorillaz at primavera this year, and idles at Glasto, both were great. Not sure gorillaz will bring same guests out but we can hope. Missed turnstile due to Jack white clash. So might have to duck idles if they do clash which would be a shame

Evening all. Jumped on the gorillaz day today with the o2 half price deal thing. Can anyone remind me how far out we should be expecting stage splits / times? Is it just a couple of weeks normally ? ambitiously hoping may be scope to see turnstile , idles and gorillaz without a clash. Also lots of other bits on undercard also quite keen to see earlier in the day. £34 seems a bargain

Pigs 7 seemed v quiet on Thursday but I wondered maybe if that is a sound restriction thing outside the main festival music days?? libertines we’re alright but didn’t really blow up. Think I might have been in iffy sound spot tho, and maybe just a touch early. Avalanches we’re ok but I was hoping for a little bit more. Again think i was in a bad spot on park stage. had watched squid and big thief in a better spot just in front of mix desk earlier and sound was great for both there. Generally thought everything else I saw all weekend massively delivered. That Includes di Ross but largely in part to the enthusiasm of myself and surrounding crowd . Have heard it’s def not one to watch back on the iplayer lol

That was absolutely incredible . First half in particular. Up there with the best performances I have seen in my 10+ times at the festival. Even a mate who tagged along knowing only a song or two beforehand was blown away

It will be busy in there , but I think because there is more of a steady trickle of people going in at different times , rather than a mad dash post headliners , there shouldn’t be the mega snake building at the entry point different individual venues in the SE corner may be super rammo tho. But I don’t think you will struggle to get into the general SE corner area

I have always found it pretty easy to get in on Thursday . Only struggle is post headliner dash and couple of hours after on the other days

If you looks on the website map, just to right of John peel field you can see an area marked the woods. Last festival there was a bar in there that was doing a few draught beers . No bar marked on map this year , maybe they won’t have a bar this time but if you are over by the JOhn Peel watching something , worth nipping in to check
