  1. When do we expect stage splits for this ? First time I have been so haven’t followed it before. Any time soon or might it not be until much closer
  2. Alvvays are good, lots of love for them on here
  3. quite a lot to have a go at here for you I reckon. Prob have a listen to almost everything that is on at Woodsies as it often has a pretty decent chunk of guitar bands , especially in the days national, Bombay bicycle club, last dinner party from other stage could be worth a listen although might not be bang on the nose squid on west holts will give you guitars but with a bit more weird and wonderful stuff around it to
  4. I feel I maybe have ‘multiple reasons’ at 5.30am on Monday morning ha. this is great thank you, and crazyfool also
  5. I am going on coach for first time this year, Thursday from Bristol. Looking for a bit of clarification from anyone with experience when we booked it , it clearly says 06:30 departure , 05:30 return . I’ve been working on the basis 6.30am is the nailed on departure time which I am more than happy with , but is there any chance it could just be a placeholder ? (With us given a different time nearer festival) also if I do need to catch coach back too (might be able to snag a lift with mates driving), I’m gonna struggle with 5.30am ha . Think I read somewhere the departures are a bit more relaxed and with somewhere like Bristol which prob has lots of coaches you just rock up whenever and wait for next space?

    2024 New Music

Just got a ticket for English teacher Nov Bristol show on strength of few tracks I have heard. Looking forward to checking the album out later today
  7. Radio 6 play pretty much everything they put out but can’t imagine much has troubled radio 1 airplay.
  8. That justice set was ace. I’ve got no idea if they are actually doing anything / much back there behind all the speakers. i remember it sounding amazing, even though it was really loud, and the whole field just went mad for it. seem to remember there was quite a lot of lights, even though possibly no genuine video? (unlike say .. the Chems) nobody was really focused on the stage anyway as everyone was just dancing with mates and randoms anyway. Only bit I seem to remember from the stage was one of them walking out into crowd at end of set being held upright by hands while smoking a sig in his leather jacket and shades also saw them at Brixton academy same year either just before or after glasto , and that was cracking too I am a big national fan , and listen to them way more than justice, but think I will prob go for justice again to finish for the party vibes The cross album has some absolute bangers on it for sure and i am confident they will all get an outing even though that album was their first

    Dexys?

No festival slots before glasto so might be difficult to get much of a steer on shorter setlist before they play

    Dexys?

Yeah I had a look at set lists but they are long format shows. Prob only getting 10 tunes max on an earlier park slot so wasn’t sure if the old classics would get cut in favour of the newer stuff, vice versa, or a combo must admit haven’t listened much to newer stuff but happy to give a a few tracks a go if I get geno / Jackie Wilson and come on Eileen scattered in to the set

    Dexys?

My understanding was Dexys were just playing loads of new stuff and shunning the old stuff. however some recent setlists suggest they may be splitting the sets into new stuff first with ‘classics’ to follow If looking at an afternoon park slot are we expecting Geno, Jackie Wilson says and come on Eileen? Or none of the the above?
  12. Will brave sir robin be knocking together a playlist on Spotify ?
  13. Plan to get right to front for LCD , so if people behind me aren’t enjoying it I won’t notice ha
  14. Idles will draw a big crowd, part made up of die hard fans and part made up from people who see them as a good option away from Dua. Fair play to them they are great live and play a lot of shows. People don’t tend to see them one and done , they come back for a repeat. these D block guys may have sold out massive London shows but I reckon they draw a smaller crowd at glasto in that same slot than idles. Could be wrong though also they might have to close the park to a swarm of indie dads for fountaines if scheduled that way lol
  15. Might have to close west holts for Justice I reckon . SZA unlikely to draw much fire. National prob get big crowd too
  16. Has someone leaked a good chunk of Woodsies lineup then? I must have missed that bit
  17. Anyone heard any whispers for the massive attack support acts? killer Mike looks likely as when he released some tour dates the other day there was a blurred out one on poster that looked very much like the date, Bristol , Clifton downs ha presuming they will have a few acts though , think it was billed as a day of music when announced rather than just an evening gig
  18. I think this is correct . Says Bristol , uk on 2nd line , Clifton downs on 3rd I reckon

    2024 Headliners

Just checked out top tracks for SZA on Spotify. Thought I would likely recognise a few as my wife listens to radio 1 in the mornings. Didn’t really recognise any though (other than the Kendrick Lamar one starz). I, as a 6 music dad ha, thought all popular music was on radio 1 . If she’s so massive how come she isn’t getting more radio 1 airplay? Also seeing the album reviews have been really strong im surprised some of the tracks haven’t been picked up on 6 too. how has she got so big over here without much radio pickup? is it just she is massive in the US and all the monster stream numbers are global rather than UK will dive into these two albums now, but a glasto headline does seem a big stretch.
  20. Can see why you thought the team love involvement may have drawn comparisons with love saves the day Neil but they are very different events. LTSD very dance and dj focused (granted haven’t been in a couple of years but lineups suggest no change. Forwards is much for performer / band focused . They do have the odd electronic act on the bill but if so tends to be those who bring a big show with them (Chems / aphex) rather than just loads of djs up their with decks/laptops little else back in 2022 I turned up just after gates opened one day and watched melt yourself down , comet is coming, self esteem, bit of sleaford mods (after switching to see Kae tempest on 2nd stage), roisin Murphy, chemical brothers back to back on main stage . There we no dj sets to get the thing going , live acts from the get go. Prob cost about £55 for the lot. granted I haven’t always got in that early in other years so maybe they do occasionally open up with a dj but it’s far removed from LTSD for sure . Average punter age prob about 10 years older too ha. if you aren’t fussed for those on the bill then fair dos, but def don’t let team love involvement put you off if you do fancy a day in the future 🙂
  21. Surprised this is drawing some negative comments. I’ve been to one day each year for a few years now , and possibly also when they were running similar under a different name before. it’s been great every year , the lineups seem really well put together to me. Also the way they semi stagger the stages means you can often see a bit of everyone should you wish to if you don’t mind missing 5 mins of the start of the next set. I would have booked an early bird ticket blind to the lineup on the strength of previous booking if I could attend both days. I can only normally get a pass for one though so had to wait to see which day has the lineup I would prefer. would happily do both days if I good square it with the good lady, but it will be LCD this year do appreciate everyone has different tastes ( I will take LCD soundsystem over the quo ha), but often priced around £70 I think it’s great value too.
  22. Pretty sure it will cost less than the cost of those Brixton residency shows lcd did a couple of years back id expect circa £65 after fees per day if you get in early doors before it starts to jump tiers if it’s yard act , Jessie , LCD on main stage that will be quite a run. Possible YA might headline 2nd stage tho I guess
  23. Responsible flagging for the win! Small flags only , only elevated when someone is actively trying to find you. I have never bothered with one myself , but years ago did attend with a big group where it was helpful to meet up in crowds, so can see the value an exclusion zone as mentioned above is an interesting idea. Prob lead to groups meeting further back , lowering, then pushing through to get further forward. So still have concerns with that one I guess for some people maybe it isn’t solely about trying to meet up effectively, some want to be able to try and pick themselves out on telly or similar too
  24. There’s one of the loyle carner ones on north st bedmo hoping we might get a more substantial announcement with undercard acts, or at least some of them soon
  25. Busted playing Bristol sounds on the Thursday Imagine they could pull a sugababes style crowd somewhere
