  1. Yeah I went to that Strokes day. Was poor sound where we were when set started but we relocated and second half of set sounded fine I’ve just noticed there is a group ticket option that works out £70 if you are a 6. I think we have 4 of us nailed on so might try and tickle a few mates to see if we can hit the 6 mark and bag that discount I have just finished reading meet me in the bathroom book so I’m more willing to part with the dosh to see Strokes , YYY and Walkmen than I might have been a month ago ha have not seen the latter two before either . Also would be keen to see amyl , warmduscher , black midi if clashes allow
  2. Hello all. wasn’t going to make the trip to London this year but have had a change of heart and now going to get a ticket for strokes day with a couple of mates. yet to purchase tickets though. Have we already seen / do we think much chance of any BOGOFs or similar ? I know in previous years there has been some for some of the days. im guessing this one is selling pretty well though compatible to others do we think I should just bite the bullet and pay the £90, or do we think deals could emerge if hold off? appreciate nobody knows categorically , just wondered if there was any general view from this forum cheers in advance
  3. Struggling to find this one on the iplayer? Swear it was there prior . can anyone else currently see it ?
  4. Just wanted to say thanks for all these responses , I don’t seem to have enough likes available to like/thanks all
  5. Evening all. Not a Glasto direct question but I think there could be some helpful posters on this forum to help me out . Just finished reading the book meet me in the bathroom , about the early 2000s New York music scene (strokes / yyys etc). I haven’t read any books like this before about music scenes / time periods. Really enjoyed it, esp when I found a 5 hr playlist on Spotify that had every track mentioned in the book which I could put on quietly in background while reading. Does anyone have any good recommendations for music books of a similar nature? I’m 40 so I guess it helps that the one mentioned here was a time I was really getting into music while at uni etc. ps - the one other music book I have read is the Glastonbury book that came out a few years back
  6. I saw someone wearing the GnR Glasto T-shirt in one of the bars in T&C fields and was really surprised. ive never noticed band specific Glasto merch available before at previous festivals . Is it common? I have seen all the Glasto merch , and I have seen the headliners sell some for their own merch , but it’s the first time I have seen a band have their own Glasto specific designed merch
  7. Just watched WoD on iplayer, now young fathers , then gonna finish with QOTSA , can’t wait. glad to hear it sounds like they smashed it (again)
  8. Thanks all this is really helpful. sounds like I might have to find something else after live streams finish on Friday night , but by Saturday night headliner close , maybe some of the Friday sets I missed might have been uploaded not quite the same as normal trudge to Arcadia or south of east corner but it will have to do
  9. First year in about 10 I have missed out. I am planning to max out bbc coverage in daytime hours it says they have live streams on iplayer from the 5 ‘main’ stages on all days so I should be able to get watch all the acts I would have watched on those stages. A question for anyone knows. How soon do the recorded sets get added? I normally binge a load when I get back on Monday and they are there then , but not sure when they appear as an example, if I decide to watch young fathers live on Fri eve (instead of Fred again), when would the Fred set be added to the player? would be epic if it was almost immediate and I could start watching it after live headliner finished that eve . guess that’s a bit ambitious though?
  10. Listened to it 3/4 times now and while it’s all pleasant enough it’s just not landing for me. Seems a bit dull and samey
  11. Saturday card seems pretty deep, think I will likely pick a ticket up. Might need to see a bit more of the acts added for Friday before committing to that too though
  12. Kasabian we’re good before the boss that year Tame impala was good too. Quite a small crowd for that slot but weather was pretty magic and think the band and crowd who did attend were well into it with about 10 festivals attended actually really surprised I can’t remember more contenders ha fender was good recently , as were vampire weekend year before
  13. Have you heard this is happening? Or just hoping ? if the former , any idea if Friday headliner , or whether it would be in addition to aphex twin on the Saturday ?
  14. Nice one, I had missed the teaser posters so thanks for posting. Hopefully we get announcements with the top acts across both days soon
  15. Made it down this morning. Absolutely loved it. So weird to see the fields empty without all the mayhem. Parked at skate park, strolled down through st Mary’s gate , walked near pyramid was a good start. Took the path through left field and west holts to railway line. Went up to stone circle , and managed to find dragon for the first time. nipped through and headed to park , got up the hill at the back to get the viewpoint. Must note there is a lot of firing clays all over upper park , so maybe give that a swerve if you hear gunfire ha. Fortunately all was quiet when we were there. Cut through other field and headed back out via pyramid. Didn’t see Michael ha , barely saw anyone to be honest. Couple of dog walkers and a couple of people using metal detectors by other stage . thanks to everyone here for all the helpful tips x did a small prayer at the end for the resale gods took a view photos but only on phone camera so won’t win any awards ha . popped into Glastonbury town centre after for first time which was really nice . Lots of interesting shops to potter around. went up the Tor after too , amazing views from the top
  16. Sure the guardian article said Lil Nas X was on before Elton on pyramid
  17. Cheers guys , gonna need to up my orienteering game to make sure I can get back to the car after ha yeah would be really keen to see the pyramid , walk the railway track line , dip off into the fields each side of it, and particularly get up to stone circle and the ground high above park where the Glasto sign lives in festival time. always like to sit up there on Wed of festival on arrival and just look out over the festival, would be cool to see it when totally empty too
  18. Thanks for the replies guys. Sounds like Parking by skate park for the win. Being a bit of a city boy , just trying to get a bit of clarity here. What if you are well behaved and respectful can you pretty much toddle around the whole festival site as you so wish (pyramid field , stone circle, railway line , picking out fav festival spots as you go ), obvs steering clear of any animals and / or fields with activity in, or is the private land thing a hard no no must we stick entirely to what are considered public footpaths with no deviation whatsoever? don’t want to break any rules , but also don’t want to short sell ourselves.
  19. Hi guys the good lady and I are having a weekend away near Glastonbury this weekend. She is suggesting going for a country walk if the weather is nice/passable. Is it possible to go for a walk across the festival site this time of year? I have def seen threads here before about best way to do a site visit , and also rules to be respectful of etc , but no idea how to find them. could anyone link a thread or give me any tips ? thanks in advance maybe a pilgrimage will help with the resale gods ha
  20. Surely Blondie aren’t the legend. They played second act on the other a few years back
  21. Emailed the festival team behind this one recently just to ask if any headliner/lineup confirmation is imminent. was looking at some other day festivals away from Bristol and didn’t want to buy tickets and commit to travelling to see an act just to see them pop up on my doorstep a couple of days later team came back saying they aren’t ready to announce quite yet but standard keep eyes on socials in coming weeks. so no news really , but if anyone like me was hoping it might be imminent it looks like could be a bit longer yet I guess they are probably focusing on shifting some love saves the day tickets at present anyway after that lineup announcement
  22. Hi all. Apologies if I this is covered somewhere earlier in the thread. Are there accepted dates that this will be on this year? Other than the stormzy one that has been announced
  23. 1. Big Thief 2. BCNR 3. Kendrick 4. Wet Leg 5. Cheat Codes Best track = Concorde , BCNR Best Live = Kendrick on pyramid
  24. Think there had been a change in bookers for the silver hayes area possibly 2 festivals back my mate used to do one of the 3 x silent disco channels on a Thursday each year but think last festival before last they stopped getting offered it due to a booking change don’t think they replaced him , just think they went in a different direction from silent disco
  25. Yeah I reckon likely the case , altho will need to wait for times to confirm. Could be scope to see a bit of all three if you don’t mind a bit of a trek start of turnstile , chunk of idles, back for gorillaz
