  1. Hardly anything I want to see on the park this year, I normally spend a bit of time up there, bit disappointed really. Thought phoebe Bridges would be on it and I would have gone to that. Won’t be as special seeing her in the JP
  2. I’m a member. It took a while for my request to be actioned. If you want to PM your names and I will try and add you onto the group. I think I can do that, I’m sure my wife did it for herself on my Facebook
  3. I’m not sure where it is but I’m sure my kids will enjoy going on a dragon hunt to try and find it. Talking about dragons, anyone remember this beast
  4. They are the band I've seen the most times live and the majority of the time they have been brilliant. Saw them twice on the Screamdelica tour, one of those was the Other stage headline slot against U2 and thought they nailed it. Pyramid before the stones was a shocker, no doubt about it. The last time I saw them was a few years ago on their greatest hits tour and I thought they were brilliant. They looked like they were having a blast and Bobby seemed happy and up for it. They have the songs to do a great set and they are definitely better headline a small stage rather than midway down a big stage. I haven't decided where I will be yet but there is a good chance I will be there.
  5. Agree. I've tried a few times to get into him and gave his new album a listen but his voice just grates me.
  6. Gate A, it's not a long walk from there. Does depend on which car park though as its not far once you are inside the fence but some of the car parks are along walk. Hopefully I will get put in a close one since I think I will be doing 2 trips. You should join the facebook group for Glastonbury families. The full name is Glasto Mums, Dads and families. Got a lot of good advice on there. Quite a few people are doing what you are, camping by themselves and then being joined by kids or having the kids there first then staying for a few days by themselves. The stewards who are on the group are fine with people staying in the family area as long as the kids are there for some of the time, and as long as you aren't causing a racket when they have gone.
  7. I was concerned about that as well. When I put it up in front of my tent it is only slightly longer than my old 6 man tent that I use to take. It's either take it or just buy a bigger tent and really don't want to spend money on another tent. I am going to be in family camping in Wicket which doesn't get to full. I also mentioned it on the Facebook Glasto family group and a lady who is steward in Wicket said it would be fine.
  8. Mine is similar but it has poles, not air. It is heavy but I don't think I have any choice really. I need the space for storage and if, I know it won't but if it does rain I'm going to need some space for my kids to sit. They are bound to wake up at 5 or 6am and need a dry space to keep them entertained
  9. I’ve got this and it’s brilliant. There are 2 adults and 2 kids in it this year and we can squeeze in 2 double mattresses. Problem is the porch isn’t big enough to store all you need for 4 people. We have a sort a gazebo thing that is fully enclosed which we are putting directly in front to act like a big porch to keep everything in
  10. As a first timer I would always recommend Big ground. Coming out of your tent in the morning seeing the Pyramid stage is great
  11. I’ve never had a pudding or even an ice cream at Glastonbury in 10 visits. Never felt the urge for something sweet but I’ve always been a beer in the queue then non stop drinking till Monday, carbs were what I craved. 2 toddlers in tow this year so drinking will be minimal so will indulge in a few of these places. I’m sure the kids will enjoy them as well
  12. Evertons current league standing is getting me excited
  13. I think I’ve seen the film 20 times and listened to ‘surface pressure’ and ‘we don’t talk about Bruno’ another 20 times on Alexa, my kids love it. I’ve never been on the barrier on the pyramid but would be if they did this.
  14. It is a long way out but last festival with just me and my Wife who was 3 months pregnant we ended up setting camp the first space we found as soon as we got on site which was in Darble so probably about the same distance out. Definitely want more space and chilled so the kids can run around the camp, they will probably be up at 5 or 6 so they can burn off a bit of energy then whist one of us gets a bit more sleep.
  15. How busy does Wicket ground get? We will probably get there mid afternoon on Wednesday and have a 6 person tent and a 3 person tent. Would love to get in Cockmills but doubt that would be possible at that time of day
  16. Bit of mould in some places which has cleaned off. All of the zips had gone white and wouldn’t move, bit of force and wd40 and they are all fine now. Loads of Glasto mud and as soon as I rolled out the tent I could smell Glastonbury. Biggest issue is a hole the size of a 50p piece just above the sleeping area. I’ve looked at patches and there seems to be lots of options, anyway used any before they can recommend?
  17. About to put up a tent I took to the festival in 2009 and it hasn’t been out of the bag since. I’ve used 2 different tents since but need the biggest tent this year, it’s a Vango Orchy 600
  18. I remember seeing that, don't know how many people were staying in it. Someone put a link to buy it on the tent thread on here. Walking around one day and what do I see at the top of the hill, a train
  19. Need to see this on the pyramid
  20. Since we now have a lot of the line up where will you be watching them from? Do you have specific areas at each stage and tent or do you just stand where ever? I'm not someone who gets close to the stage unless there's not many people there. Mine are: Pyramid - Looking out from the stage on the left half way up the hill is my go to place if I can. I came in from the other side of the stage and watched Laura Marling one year and it seemed weird being so low it relation to the stage. Other - Always on the right from the stage. Obviously the bar is that side which is a bonus but I think there's less talking from people around you there. The other side and the back have paths so people stop and have a look and natter and carry on walking WH - Since no screens central mid way back Park - Go past the stage and come in from the top part near the small bar there. Generally stay on the higher ground or can get a bit closer in this side if I feel like it John Peel - Come into the field from the bottom and walk past the tent and the bar and come in that side, always quieter and more space.
  21. Craft a set list. Most of his set will be Beatle songs, what do you want him to play?
  22. We thinking not thinking Elbow not in their usual slot then? Would be weird seeing them at Glastonbury somewhere else
