  1. Brighton for me, so will vote London as it at least represents the correct direction of travel
  2. Absolutely. Glastonbury whilst not cheap has always been less of a rip off than arenas and other more mainstream festival. I think £5 at the Cider Bus. £5.50 most bars. £6 for the premium stage bars. Something in that range is my best guess for the cooking lager and cider.
  3. We just had them pegged as the communal headliner for our group as I think we are going to be pretty disparate this year. I'll take Phoebe over anyone this year though, my one non-negotiable set of the weekend
  4. Literally the only three headliners (Phoebe/Billie/PS) I want to see on the same night, with all due respect NO THANK YOU 😃. Phoebe the obvious winner out of that lot, but slim pickings for me otherwise over the sat/sun night.
  5. Steven Frost Improv Allstars are fantastic institution in the T&C Fields and are well worth catching if you are free. The mental gymnastics on show are absolutely fabulous.
  6. Thanks for the write up @Ddiamondd I'm really glad you had a good time. Nice to have more on the ground reporting in addition to @Suprefan's contributions.
  7. All very exciting. We are in Sticklinch this year so am delighted to get a better idea of what to expect! Hopefully the official site map will be out soon
  8. Yes I've seen some of his Glastonbury videos, also very enjoyable
  9. I'm also on the search for random vlogs on YouTube, I'll go through my regulars just prior to the festival Barbster, Dean Richards (I think) and Fremily. In the interim it's jut see if I come across anything random that I haven't seen and then see where the algorithm takes me. An increased presence on here is essential as it is the one place I will not bore people by banging on about Glastonbury all the time! Already this forum is on fire and we haven't even properly got the Weather Thread going yet! Just love the enthusiasm on here, it adds ever more fuel to my Glastonbury fire.
  10. Exactly, I could not be more out of touch. I am genuinely interested in any recommendations though as I know nothing about this scene at all and actually quite fancy a dance this year.
  11. I'm 54 and Fatboy and Groove Armada (shame it's just a DJ set) are the only names I have any knowledge of. Silver Hayes is somewhere I enjoy strolling through on Weds and Thursday but not anywhere I normally spend a great deal of time to see acts other than in the BBC Introducing stage. I'd like to give it a whirl this year though, looking forward to seeing who gets recommended by those more knowledgeable than myself. I like the look of the Lonely Hearts Club.
  12. Lionel was the best one I've seen. That set had Glastonbury-Moment written all over. The way Lionel's eyes popped out of his head when he came on stage was just amazing, the crowd picked up on it and then set just took off. Also hats off to the Shrinel Ritchie picking up the Shangri-La quirkiness where the Blessed Church of Bono left off. I quit the England game in 2010 to go see Ray Davies, he was most surprisingly an utter delight, still get goosebumps thinking of Waterloo Sunset.
  13. Just watched this great doc on YouTube https://youtu.be/jjwilAja7Lc gave me a greater appreciation of coachella. To be honest we are comparing apples to oranges here, Glasto and Coachella were born out of different cultures and they both reflect their own sense of place both geographically, culturally and musically. I’ve enjoyed @Suprefan extolling the virtues of Coachella on this thread. The two festivals are not the same and they can both be enjoyed for what they are, not disliked for what they are not
  14. On the topic of the lyrics, yes they are explicit but they are undoubtedly empowering in my opinion. I'm a big rock fan and the guys have been singing songs like this forever. I think parents will make their own judgement on what they think is appropriate for their kids, I suspect that kids will listen to what they want anyway. I saw some the Doja Cat videos for the weekend and it just isn't for me. I do not like the music, it's as simple as that. It was however quite the spectacle and if Doja does bring that production to the farm then a lot of people are going to have a lot fun enjoying it. Each to their own and all that.
  15. Ghost would be amazing but I struggle to see where they would fit given the size of their production.
  16. Not really Glastonbury relevant but I went to see The Mission at Chalk in Brighton last night. Absolutely superb, they had a blast in the first return to the stage in two years.
  17. Too many people, I genuinely think it should be at 10/20k fewer than it currently is.
  18. Grace Petrie is indeed great, saw her twice in 2019.
  19. Yep back to the original trio! fantastic news!
  20. The answer will be yes. Although I managed to get a decent spot inside the tent for Busted, who absolutely crushed it!, and wasn't aware until much later that they had to close the field. I suspect the same maybe true of the Sugababes.
  21. Sugababes!!! get in! Also highly recommend Ferris & Sylvester
  22. Just loaded up their twitter page in anticipation, this would be a cracking start to the stages if true.
  23. I agree. there are so many acts that feel perfect fits for certain stages but there does not seem to be any room for them. I can see The Other stage mopping up a few acts who cannot find room at The Park or JP
