  1. 2019 was noticeably better than previous years. The no single-use plastic ban seemed to be a game changer as regards general litter. As for my attitude to rubbish, always use a bin and if one is not available I'll stick my rubbish in my bag until I find one with room. I absolutely hate littering.
  2. Separate bars. The Bimble Inn is a canvas tent that can be found at festivals all over the country. Decent cider and live performances. Tricketts is bar on the hill, lovely spot for a pint

Great episode. Always good to hear from Beans!
  4. Duly noted. I have booked the Tuesday though off for final prep, packing and last minute shopping.
  5. I'll be on this forum and the webcam wondering why I didn't book the Monday off too!
  6. Just had a despatch notice for my car parking passes. Hopefully the barcode will not be far behind!
  7. Ditto. I also like that SL is immediately adjacent to Riggs field so it will hopefully feel more like part of the festival than WV.
  8. Not bothered by the lack of bar, I'll have my last drink before heading back or crack one open when I get back to the tent. At WV the bar wasn't particularly great but sitting by the fire with a can after a schlep ups the hill was a pleasant experience .
  9. Friday Saturday Sunday for me. Most people I want to see are on Friday so I will have to make some sacrifices to clash gods on that day sadly. Saturday and Sunday should be rather pleasant. Fewer must sees on days 4/5 but plenty of "I quite fancy seeing them" clashes less of an issue on saturday/sunday.
  10. Out of upvotes so consider this one. If I see your flag I'll definitely head over and say hello. Solidarity.
  11. It's just general info regarding checking in and the facilities available. For checking in the lead booker will get sent a barcode which can be scanned the same number of times as the capacity of the tent that has been booked. This means people can arrive at separate times and still check using the barcode associated with the booking. Facilities Toilets and Showers as per WV. Food: 4 outlets 1 burger place, 1 wrap and buns, 1 pancake place (+smoothies), 1 bakery all with coffee.
  12. Whilst I anxiously await the barcode and car parking I too am pleased with the proposed facilities at SL. Looks like I may be able to get a breakfast smoothie at The Mixing Jug which will save me a trek to the nearest Groovie Smoothie outlet.
  13. Same. Not had the barcode or car parking yet. Nice to get the info at least though.
  14. Top of Theatre and Circus fields
  15. I'll be legging it over from Phoebe in JP, hopefully Fender will keep the crowds away before I can get to Avalon
  16. Will definitely be trying for this. Will be an emotional show.
  17. It is without doubt a massive inconvenience for those planning to travel on Tuesday and Thursday, but at least one workforce is serious about protecting their interests and I do support the action. I went to the 02 on Monday during an RMT strike for the Queen + Adam Lambert gig and had to travel from Brighton and it did indeed make the journey a lot more annoying than it otherwise would have. We had to improvise with a boat and then a cab (as all the North Greenwich boats were full at London Bridge). That RMT held really well and there were no tubes so I would expect this one to hold also. Coaches seem to be the number one workaround, or for Tuesday travellers moving to the Monday or Wednesday. I feel for those who can only travel on the Thursday but there is at least time to formulate alternative arrangements. When you look at the investment and attitudes towards to public transport on the continent the way we treat it here is nothing short of shameful. Too expensive, poorly maintained and unreliable. We really need to take public transport seriously in this country.
  18. The educated guesses are Paolo Nutini and The 1975. The rest is more of a guessing game/wish fulfilment.
  19. let's hope we get the info soon, and yes it would be nice to see the SL tents going up this week too!
  20. Sh*t is now officially getting real! Love it!
  21. I've been to the Glade and Avalon for my non-main stage headliners before and had an absolute blast. One thing to do if nothing really grabs you is to go up the hill and take a look over the site whilst all the main stages are in action, it is a fantastic sight! maybe an opportunity to hit NYC downlow instead of a stage. Getting into SE Corner prior to 11 will be an absolute breeze, so just wander on in at your leisure and take a look around without the huge crowds. Sometimes not having a headliner can be a blessing

    Glastocam!

Is that the new crew camping area, would it be facilities for the crew? It really looks like a lot of Pylon has been lost this year
  23. Top of the Theatre and Circus field I believe
