  1. That is a good list and Skindred would go down a storm! Just awesome in a festival setting. I missed Green Lung at Bloodstock so would love to see them. Architects definitely fit in also.
  2. I really hope the Scum stage is back this year. Venom Prison have come on leaps and bounds since their appearance in support Gojira would love to see them back. Svalbard would be a good shout this year, or While She Sleeps. Would love to see Cattle Decapitation who fit the eco-vibe of the Festival but probably are not widely known outside underground death metal circles. I too hope Turnstile are doing an IDLES, a late night Truth stage performance for them would be awesome.
  3. We can wait. Looking forward to the announcement and the preservation of your trusted ITK status
  4. I did it in 2017 when my car driving friends spurned the opportunity to get a coach ticket. How did I find it. I found it just fine. Given how much there is to do at Glastonbury not hanging around waiting for friends can be a liberating experience as you can come and go as you please. As for company I had what I called a load of 'five minute friends'. People that you find yourself sitting down with or standing next to at show or a bar. You just strike up a pleasant conversation. On day 1 2017 these conversations took place with fellow festival goers seeking some shade from the heat and we discussed the weather. People are quite open to have a chat and given that we have a major mutual interest in the festival there is always something to chat about. Efestivals does have a meet up on the Wednesday at the Ridge and Farrow in the Theatre and Circus fields and I attended on this occasion. it was great, a nice friendly bunch as you would expect. If you do a search on this forum (or others) I believe there is a Camp Solo for solo festival goers who would like to camp in a group and there is plenty of online support for solo attendees. Going solo can be great fun, I really hope you enjoy your festival!

    Vegan Traders

The hemp burgers with more salad than you can shake a large stick at are fantastic from Vegan Pyramid too
  6. 2017 Brighton coach on the Wednesday was 7.45am departure Return 04.30 Monday! To be honest was a struggle on the Monday but thanks to a driver that knew how to avoid the Brighton rush hour I was back home and in bed by around 8.45/9am
  7. Just booked to see Midlake next week, their recent sets seem really nicely balanced across all the albums. I am treating it as a Glastonbury warm up will be intrigued as to where they'll play, probably the JP in the slot Band of Horses were a let down, but a sunset set at The Park would be just delightful ( a lot of acts on the bill would suit this I feel!)
  8. Would love to see Black Honey on the farm. JP or Williams Green would be perfect. Saw them on their last touring Brighton. Outstanding.

Sounds like you have it sorted! Have a great festival!

I'm sorry to hear that. In 2015 I had the same experience, I was in Pylon and all my friends were in WV. We did actually manage to see each other quite a lot and I did manage to spend a lot of time together with them, but it does change the group dynamic. I think the best way to deal with queues and long walks is to try and get a coach and then park yourself in Darble or Pylon both of which you can do after midday and to be honest even Thursday without the trials and tribulations of the early morning queues. I'm happy to do that now rather than chase the holy grail of a room with a view.

I would. As for my group, hmmm maybe not. I'm in Sticklinch this year and have done WV twice. In 17 I was solo and was back in Pylon. My personal preference would to be inside the fence and I came very close to getting my lot to crack and agree to head back in. The pre-erected does make the beginning and end of the festival so much less hassle. You do not have to leave at the crack of dawn to get into the queue at 4am, you can rock up at lunchtime and just head straight in without having to lug your gear for miles. To be honest for me that is the main benefit, my friends also like the showers but I never use them. In fairness I quite liked WV but it did 'feel' different to camping inside the fence, I'm hoping that Sticklinch basically being adjacent to Rigs Field will make it feel that little more connected to the festival.

They are very roomy, personally I preferred the canvas ones, but the Glastonbury bells were just fine, loads of room inside, even if you are not organised with the space.

IIRC it was the fabric band same as 16 (which was my other time in WV)

2019 you had a Worthy View wristband so no pass out required for the Pennard Gate
  15. Just bought a ticket for Julien Baker in Camden in May.....intriguingly Julien has June off I wonder if she may join Phoebe on the Farm
  16. We'll be lucky if the one a week before is accurate...still it is all part of the build-up fun. Welcome back Weather Thread!
  17. Well some quite worrying predictions in there. That 8.7mm and 5.3mm figures are huge! The rest of it all looks fine though.
  18. Just back from Lucy Dacus in Brighton, fantastic. Emily get on the phone now and call Julien whilst your at it and get boygenius back together. Lucy’s records are great but live that voice just melts you.
  19. Missed out for a friend with payment page shenanigans absolutely gutted for her but I got two people through on the coach sale so still a relatively successful resale period this year. Congratulations to all who made it, so glad you will be joining us on the farm!
  20. Going to see Lucy tonight in Brighton, cannot wait!
  21. Devastating news. Taylor was the life and soul of the band. The 2017 set will forever be etched on my heart as my favourite Glastonbury set of all time. I just cannot believe this awful news
  22. To be honest I think the toilet situation is much better than before. If you can avoid the Railway track long drops and the tiny urinals at the top of the park you'll be ok. Very impressed with the cleanliness of the long drops at the top of Williams Green, for such a busy area I thought they'd be awful but they seemed to be cleaned very regularly. As for the campsites expect to see more compost toilets which really are superb as long as there is enough sawdust left on the Sunday! I f you are a newbie, I'd suggest getting your fist LD visit done early just to get it out of your system so to speak.
  23. I listened to that set from the hill on the other side of the trees, we could see Frank through a gap. Was a really pleasant way to enjoy the set. The BBC Introducing was great too. On the Friday I went from Gojira on the Truth Stage to Frank at Avalon, what night that was!
  24. Don't get me wrong I liked WV and it's proximity to the railway track is pretty good, but if you were in the top level of WV by the entrance it does feel a little disconnected, although I loved the view of the site from the fire pit where the stalls were. With Sticklinch it's adjacent to another camping field which for me makes it more connected to inside the fence. Also perfectly placed for The Park, Arcadia and Cineramageddon. The no hill is a big deal for my group and it's a bit easier to nip back to SL for an afternoon nap.
