Well done Neil and helpers - sounds like it’s been a real nightmare for you - you have had a really crap year this year - so glad it is ending on a more positive note ( omicron not withstanding!) Glad to be back ! 😀

  7. Saw them at Portsmouth Sunday and agree - Aaron’s voice seems to have benefited from an enforced rest- absolutely killed it.
  8. Frank Turner on a main stage The Lottery Winners Slow Readers Club Lynx Sports Team Teenage Fan Club
  9. Outdoor festivals first - Latitude - Wolf Alice, Lynx, Sports Team, Chems, Bastille and Victorious - Frank Turner, Annie Mac, Fontaine's DC, Royal Blood were all highlights first indoor gig - 4 nights at Roundhouse for Frank Turners Lost Evenings. Best support act by a mile was The Lottery Winners. off to see Slow Readers Club tomorrow at Wedgewood rooms in Portsmouth 😀👍
  10. Lots of classic moments but the most emotional one for me was Radiohead in 2003 - it was my best festival ever (out of 20) over the whole weekend for various reasons and that Saturday night just got to me.
  11. Did 84&86 and then waited til 1995 to go again and have been every year since except 2004 when I couldn’t get tickets ( the year of hanging on the phone for hours and trying dial up Internet 🙄) and 2008 when I could have got tickets as it didn’t sell out til day before but I was in Australia for a family wedding. So a fair few! And will be there in 22 too 😀
  12. Yeah but aliens do really exist though? 👽

    First Gig Back

Have done a couple of festivals outside - but due to spend 4 nights at The Roundhouse Camden at Lost Evenings ( Frank Turner) this weekend- will be first indoor gigs. Double vaxxed and testing daily but feeling a bit anxious about it, as also using public transport and hotel for first time in a long while. Not been in a train since 2019!

  16. Glad to hear you are home again Neil. Take it easy and try not to fall over again - at least until you know you can get back up again! Want you fully recovered by next June😀

    2022 Headliners

Gorillaz brought out loads of guests in 2010. I distinctly remember a girl behind me saying “who’s he?” when Lou Reed came on.
  18. If the proposal for COVID passports for mass events goes ahead how do we think this might effect things? This would apply to Glastonbury I would think - not all artists or other groups who attend will be happy about this. Wonder what impact might be ? Hopefully not longer queues to get in on Weds!
  19. We normally buy 1st early bird tickets for sat and sun as for £35.00 per day you can’t really go wrong. This was the 4th year - Saturday was by far the busiest and took us a good hour and half to get from arriving in Portsmouth to the car park. But we were running a bit late leaving Bournemouth so didn’t get in until 2.30pm. There were long queues to get in on 2 of the gates but the gate round the back by the sea was no queue. They went for a mix of compost loos and portaloos this year - there were long queues but could have been avoided by better management. The portaloos at back of The Common stage seemed ok and 5 mins queues. Bars both days were straight in- they seem to have had more bars this year. Wi-fi was a bit dodgy so some stalls only taking cash. Other food stalls had long queues. Prices very high in some places. Amstel £6 a pint. Excellent sets from Frank Turner and The Streets on Saturday, and pigs x7, Annie Mac, The Snuts, Fontaines DC, Supergrass and Royal Blood on Sunday. Sunday was less busy and more chilled. It was the first year they have sold weekend tickets and full weekend/camping package. We never go Friday as it’s not worth it for just 1 stage when there are 6 or 7 stages and more going on on Saturday/Sunday. Saturday was definitely more busy and there was a full on fight right behind me which was not good. Overall ok 2 days - tickets have gone up to £45 per day for Sat/Sun for next year as I guess they need to recoup losses from last year. Still good value for money though.
  20. have you tried offsitecamping@victoriousfestival.co.uk they may be able to help?
  21. That’s what my niece said as soon as she saw it 😂
  22. Blimey Neil - you really are having a shit year🙁 Hope your op goes ok and you make a quick recovery- I bet you have had enough of hospitals by now!
