  1. Car parks open at 9pm. Probably easier arriving around then, having a kip in the car. But the queues will be starting to get big from around 4am. But if you aren't fussed about camping in one of the main areas, then I would leave it till Wednesday morning and arrive about 10:00am and you should just about walk straight in
  2. 10 up for me this year. I have done 2005/11/16 all were very grim. 2005 was bad because I was pushing a 3 wheeled buggy around in that mud, and they put straw down on the trackway and the front wheel on the buggy got jammed up and I had to carry the buggy after that. 2011 was very strange, I think it rained heavily up until Saturday lunchtime, then the sun came out. I was in full wet weather gear and suddenly sweating badly. Also on the Sunday it was about 26 degrees sunshine the humidity was terrible and Paul Simon was absolutely shit on the Pyramid. But the worst of the previous 9 by far for me was 2016. The mud was terrible, wore wellies for 5 days solid, Sunday morning I was broken and nearly bailed. Rang the Mrs for support, then said sod it and opened a tin of Dark Fruits Cider and didnt look back after that. But I skipped 2017 because of 2016 and didnt get a ticket in 2019.
  3. I did 3 years in a row about 3 tents back from the path directly in the middle of the other stage field. Even that far back from the path when Blondie played there were people all around our tents. The Sunday night in 2016 I was woken up by 2 girls pissing on the side of the tent. Like said previously it seemed noisy all the time due to people walking back and forth either from Silver Hayes or Arcadia etc... My friends all wanted to camp there every year and the protestors were outnumbered. Well never again for me!!

    Glastocam!

I for one will be glad when the crane has gone. It looks so ugly and out of place in that environment
  5. Thats a good idea, but at £52.50 is not a cheap idea! Taxi to B&W, Shuttle to Gate A, Shuttle to WV would probably take about an hour longer but would be free. Of course if you haven't got much stuff you can see if the taxi will drop you by the side of the road near Gate A but it is risky but I have seen it done, just need to watch out for the Police and Stewards.
  6. 2016 our group arrived about 5:30am. We split into 2, the people going through Gate D got in about 20 mins quicker than me at Gate A.
  7. There is a suggestion on another thread that taxis cannot get up to WV. The closest they can get is about a mile away.
  8. I have parked there twice because it is much easier to get in and out of than the official car parks. It is a field, but there is a shower and toilet block, I think you have to pay a few quid to use the shower. Loads of people park there, but there are also tents and caravans/motorhomes if I remember correctly, but not space for many. From the field, it is probably about a 20 min walk to Gate D, depending on the weather and if you can cut across the field and through the hedge over the stream. I would email and see if they have space left for a motorhome and what water facilities they have, I didn't need to use them so have never checked.
  9. 2 Man Scout tents are the cheapest and they start at £325
  10. Sticklinch access looks considerably flatter (no steps) if you can still get the type of accommodation you want in there.
  11. So Kasbah replaced by The Taphouse. Still not sure what The Elephant Bar replaced or where it is, similar with The Open Arms.
  12. Where was the Chameleon previously and was it replaced by something else?
  13. I have compared the overhead maps from 2016 and 2019 and it looks like there is a bar in the place where Rock the Kasbah was both years. so fingers crossed it hasn't gone, unless it has been replaced by something else
  14. Rock the Kasbah for late night entertainment for me, gutted it has gone. For drinking, Tricketts?? top of the hill and the Avalon Inn
  15. Although I have several friends going, I will be solo camping for the first time. I am used to making my own entertainment during the day and frequently wander around on my own. I have never made the efests meet in 9 previous visits. Always been a bit nervous. Think I need to get over it and turn up this year.
  16. Who knows if Doja Cat will even turn up. Reports suggest she is quitting music!
  17. Ignore me, made an error on the page
  18. I wish they would let the Google Maps Car on site to have a quick whizz round on the Tuesday evening once everything is set up
  19. Kasbah gone. No way. That is a real shame. I spent many a late night in there. Surely something else around there to replace it?
  20. Baggy Monday's is an amazing Thursday night experience but it is a behemoth as well. I actually prefer it outside the tent, more space to breath and the atmosphere is still amazing. Also, Club de Fromage in William's Green, can't remember what night, but brilliant fun, and one of my absolute favs, even over the late night areas is after the headliners in Rock the Kasbah. Just banging tunes and a massive singalong/dancealong.
  21. having looked on this big map and seeing glasto latino in the west holts area I will never understand why they have moved it there. must be so much noise bleed from the WH stage. Just means IICON has got far too much space for what I understand was a fairly limited audience most nights

    Pre-erected

Both Worthy View and Sticklinch have separate car parks next to the camp sites for the people staying there only.
  23. For Worthy View I am not sure if there is really a rush, more a steady stream of people arriving all through Wednesday because there is no pressure to get the best spot. There will be people queuing bang on 08:00am but most will arrive early afternoon, which is what I did both times I was in there, mainly to avoid the worst of the early morning traffic on the east side of the site.
  24. yes they would require a license. The vast majority of AF beers are de-alcoholised and therefore there is residual alcohol in them hence why most are labelled 0.05%. That's why if you buy some at the supermarket it still has to be authorised.
