Had a fantastic few hours in Williams Green in 2015 on the Saturday night

Stumbled on someone playing old soul 45s in the Spike on the Thursday evening last year.

Yeah think that was Soul Stew, back again this year, really enjoyed that! Very old-skool, none of this mixing mullarky, just take one disk off the (single) turntable while eveyone chats to their new-found mates, and put another one on. Brilliant!

Craig Charles is highly, highly recommended! Ridiculous amounts of fun to be had, fantastic DJ, does the odd Northern Soul amongst just good music, usually on the Hell Stage Friday day for a few hours

There is sometimes a northern soul session in Williams green after the main stages close. Last year the tent was closed because of the mud

On that Saturday in 2015 there was Northern Soul advertised at three different venues... rarely seen it otherwise before or since.

Not actually Northern Soul (though they may chuck in the odd number) but Freddie and the Freeloaders play Stax and Motown covers with the odd old school R'n'B number chucked in. They're playing the West Holts bar again this year, probably on the Thursday.

Saturday night around midnight (following the jacksons) on Williams green, Deptford Northern Soul Club (followed by Eddie Pillar's soul session) will do me nicely

I do hope so (hence the name) my old man was bang into it so I was pretty much raised on it, that and Motown. He was a regular at Wigan Casino and has about 2 thousand 45's in the loft....!!
