Like you’re not booking a ticket?

Same guy who went on about how indie is pop and not rock, and then said anyone who disagrees is unwashed and uneducated. Check the glasto 27 headliners thread and go back a page or two. He also said anything released prior to Black Sabbath's debut is not real rock music.

This is the guy who is accusing me of gatekeeping.

How’s about a way too early lineup prediction to get things back on track?

APEX: Deftones / Alice In Chains / Knocked Loose / Malevolence

OPUS: Don Broco

APEX: Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Alkaline Trio

OPUS: Lamb of God

APEX: System Of A Down / Gojira / Amon Amarth / PRESIDENT

OPUS: Megadeth (Final UK show)

He said let's get back on track

I'm being serious. If it's their last ever UK show it absolutely should be a main stage headline slot rather than second stage. They're one of the big 4 for crying out loud. Slayers final show being on 2nd a few years back was a disgrace.

This would get me there 100%. Way better than this year's linup imo which doesn't do much for me personally. Deftones, AIC, Knocked Loose, LOG, SOAD, Gojira and Megadeth would all be must see for me.

I do think SOAD will be there 100%. Get the feeling we will get MCR instead of Blink, same deal as SOAD and this year LP, huge band who sold out stadiums the year prior. Deftones makes perfect sense as the next band from their era after Korn and LB to bump up.

I’ll give it a go (pre-line up listening session):

MUST SEE

Bad Omens, Cypress Hill, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Electric Callboy, Landmvrks, letlive, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, The Plot In You

WANT TO SEE

Ash, Babymetal, Behemoth, Dogstar, Feeder, Guns n Roses, Imminence, Mouth Culture, Sleep Theory, Social Distortion

WOULD SEE

Bloodywood, Drowning Pool, Magnolia Park, South Arcade, Those Damn Crows, unpeople

Hot take but a trio of Deftones, MCR and SOAD would be the highest selling download ever

Probably the three most popular bands with the younger generation

I predicted Slipknot instead of Deftones, but it is definitely time for Deftones to step up to headliner. Slipknot can headline in 28.

It wouldn't. 2023 sold out and they've reduced capacity since then so it can't be the best selling Download ever!!

Seeing some of the bands you’ve got there, I would recommend Silent Planet and DRAIN for sure.

Panic are too big to sub and I can't see Download ever booking them to headline either

I must be out of touch, I'd have had them in the weak headliner / strong sub category.

I think the fact they've been gone for a while would make them headline or nothing

They are one of the biggest 2000's nostalgia acts along with MCR and FOB

These are the options for the bands that have never played download before

Blink 182

Foo Fighters

Nine Inch Nails

Pearl Jam

Bon Jovi (Unlikely)

The Cure (Unlikely)

Queen + Adam Lambert (Unlikely)

Panic At The Disco (Very Unlikely)

And I think it'll be two of these bands

Deftones

Slipknot

Ghost

System Of A Down

My Chemical Romance

Paramore

Iron Maiden

Metallica

Bring Me The Horizon

That's your pool imo

Possibly some outside shots like Falling In Reverse (please no) that I'm not thinking of

I’ll definitely have a listen, there’ll be a lot of gems in there I’ve not found yet. Also missed Architects off my list who are probably in my top three 😂

I don't think Bon Jovi is too unlikely.

The Wembley dates are selling well so there is demand (unlike GnR.) If Download want another Monsters of Rock era band to headline then they are probably the best shout

    • I really like the Cheap Thrills! I saw them at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester in January at one of Chris Hawkins' "Awesome Friends" nights (which i think is why I even got tickets as it wasn't listed as a Cheap Thrills show!). Very good live and some great songs. I would've gone Saturday if I'd planned ahead!
    • They also seem to be in a mission to break the US with their new major label and this latest LP   Mid afternoon, live streamed on Disney+ is arguably a much bigger gig than Kendal Calling, if they had to skip one
    • This is massively exciting. I've been curious to who will be provide vocals for their live show and this is mega!
    • Seems to be getting reported as his only headline show in UK, I would say he's probably out BST now but can be on the Sunday teatime glasto slot or something
