Quick question for those in the know as I can't seem to get a response form the festival themselves!

We're looking at coming as a group of four adults and one child (child will be 4 at the time of the festival)
Would we all be able to access family camping with this ratio? We'd like to share childcare but the T&Cs don't seem to give a concrete answer on the ratio.

Curious if we'd need all five tickets under one booking for this, or if two adults (me and my partner) could book separately.
It's been about 5/6 years since I was last in family camping there and it felt like things were beginning to get stricter!

I think their party line is that it's not allowed (only primary carers) but we did this last year and it was no issue at all.

It also shouldn't be an issue booking separately either - you don't need a ticket for under 5s anyway so don't need to worry about the ratio on that front.

Thanks both! Yeah, from years gone by it was always much more relaxed for entry to family camping, our fairly significant group would turn up separately and it was never too much of an issue.

Turning up all together looks to be a must as you say. Here's the section in the T&Cs that left me a little confused, but sounds like we should be fine!

Yeah, I can only speak from my experience this year and it may depend on who is on the gate, But we had me, my wife, my sister in law and her boyfriend turning up with my daughter but the entry in is so quick through the gate that it was all very seamless. We knew worst case scenario was my sister in law and boyfriend would have gone to general but no issues whatsoever and we were pretty much just funnelled through.

Did find it odd though - years gone by I have had very different worries getting through the gate than 'will we all be allowed in family camping?' 😂

As others have said, you will be fine if you've all booked family camping and arrive together. Before we had kids, my partner and I camped with my brother's young family and shared childcare over the weekend. Now we take our own! Family camping is ideal with a 5-year old as you're close to the Magic Garden area- I'd say go for it.

This will be our first Latitude since 2016 (and even then, we camped in guest). What's usually the best time to arrive on Thursday in terms of less car queuing and finding space in the general campsite? My partner has booked the Refresh Retreat add-on, so ideally we'd like to be close to that area.

TIA.

Sorry to double post but just seen this with Flaming Lips confirming themselves for the Sunday Im guessing opposite Capaldi?

What do we reckon, Self Esteem Saturday and an unannounced act Friday in the tent?

Did I see somewhere that Tom Grennan is confirmed for the Friday?  Think he's headlining the big top at Isle of Wight so can see him doing the same at Lats.  I'm hoping we have another surprise for the Saturday headline spot in the tent.

Based off the last few years we'll probably be getting the second lot of names either 22nd or 29th of this month so who else are we hoping to see added?

Based on who didn't play over the last couple of years, wouldn't need to headline the Obelisk and is playing in the UK around that time, I'd be happy with Kool & The Gang, Friendly Fires, We Are Scientists, Inspiral Carpets, The Streets, Happy Mondays, Working Men's Club, The Futureheads. On personal preference I hope to see Underworld, Leftfield, 808 State, The Sabres of Paradise, Slowdive, Ride.

Suede are touring again next year and are not currently playing anywhere else over the Latitude weekend. I know they headlined a fair few years ago, but not sure they'd pull the same crowds they once did. Perhaps a 'special guest' slot, much like Elbow last year? Likewise, potentially the Charlatans? I'd be looking for an established dance act or two to be added also.

I did a bit of research and on their 20 years countdown thing that theres one due next week for comedians which is coming alongside the comedy lineup so id say end of this week or start of next for the next names

Looks like we might have something like this:

Friday

Obelisk: David Byrne, The Last Dinner Party, Dry Cleaning, Alice Phoebe Lou

Second Stage: Tom Grennan, Florence Road

Sunrise: TBA

Saturday

Obelisk: Teddy Swims, Tom Odell, Billy Ocean, Vanessa Carlton

Second Stage: Wet Leg, Westside Cowboy, Just Mustard

Sunrise: Getdown Services, Keo

Sunday

Obelisk: Lewis Capaldi, Self Esteem, Alex James Britpop Classical

Second Stage: The Flaming Lips, English Teacher

Sunrise: TBA

David Byrne, Wet Leg, The Flaming Lips, really not a bad headline trio for me. Have seen Wet Leg around 4/5 times at various festivals / gigs so they're not the most exciting option for me, but I've never seen a bad headline gig in the tent, so I'm sure I'd have a good time if I went. Haven't seen David Byrne or The Flips before, and have wanted to for a few years, so both of them are banging for me. Both of them look absolutely brilliant live, so will be very excited for them if I can make it there this year. David Byrne's got one of the most inventive set-ups on tour right now, and looks more of a theatrical performance than a gig, and The Flaming Lips look absolutely brilliant / bonkers whenever they play. Will be the best things the Obelisk + Second Stage has seen in years for me.

Will be interesting if Self Esteem's subbing Capaldi. Have the Latitude bookers seen her new show / heard her latest album? I can imagine they'll be a few parents covering their children's ears when she plays a particular song off the new record. If you've heard the album you'll know which one I'm talking about. Fair play to them I guess, she's not my thing but I'm all for some more edgy bookings on the Obelisk, it's been a bit too wholesome for some years now. I await them booking Bob Vylan and Kneecap to play an early afternoon set to the picnic blanket and camping chair crew, that'll be more like it.

Excited to see who they add, there's already some good names, but if they can pad out the Second Stage and give us a banging Sunrise lineup as usual, then it'll be one of the best Glastonbury replacements you can get in the country this year.
