Honestly, £5/m for champions league football, and a load of international cricket (not just the Ashes, I watched a bunch of WI vs Aus, India vs NZ and the world cup) is a pretty great deal IMO. Enough that I'm happy doing that instead of sailing the high seas like I do for PL games.

not a chance they get relegated ... still think they can qualify for champions league via premier league , although obviously winning it is now not happening

Aye Liverpool have to go some to be as naff as Wolves, Leeds and Burnley, who currently look like the 3 likeliest candidates to fall through the trap door now that West Ham & Forest have picked things up.

 

Maybe take the Ange's Spurs route from last season of put everything at winning the Champions League and finish in the bottom 6.

The table is still quite tight tbf. Arsenal look very strong, but behind them is a bit of a much of a muchness imo. Could still be a few weeks before we really get a shape of things when the tables begins to filter out more. I mean, Liverpool aren't going down much as I think a few are finding it funny to think they will and they still have lots of good players that you can imagine a winning team can be filtered together with. Hell, Man City had an iffy patch last season and still finished in the top 4.

 

It's just mystifying can't lie. Admittedly, I'm aware I'm not going to be sympathetic to Isak given the way he forced his way out of Newcastle but that's a separate issue.

Well they’re going some. Over the last six games (half the season so far) they have the same points as Leeds, two more than Wolves and three less than Burnley. Looks like they’re just as naff to me. 
 

There is absolutely nothing happening at Liverpool to even hint at a turnaround, the opposite seems more likely.

 

They’re getting worse. From narrowly losing a couple they’ve regressed to getting battered.

Fair play to Everton, but I thought Man Utd were woeful going forward. An additional man and pretty much restricted to half chances.

Utd fans are expecting games like that to be honest, 1st defeat in 2 months so can't grumble to much. Although 2 points out of 9 has put the breaks on somewhat.

Social media overreacting based on one result? Heavens to Betsy. But even a team playing well can stumble into this kind of result now and then. 

 

There's definitely a question of whether they were ambitious enough against an Everton team with such a disadvantage tbf.

Be nice to take the lead in an away match and do something other than lose. Even if this time the performance sounds better than the Brentford & West Ham misfires.

It wasn't bad. My main worry coming out of it is Tonali looked tired and sloppy. Very chaotic game where neither team was ever really in control. We created a lot of good chances, and while Gordon's (rightly) getting some criticism for not passing to Barnes at the end of the 1st half, other than that I thought it was his best game playing centrally.

 

The Pope charge mistake is the sort of error that happens. If it affects his confidence in the next couple of games then sure, bring in Ramsdale and give him a chance, but I think Pope has moved on from mistakes successfully in the past.

 

One thing that stood out to me when Tonali took the direct free kick that went nowhere, is that our only potential free kick scorer is Trippier. There's a few that are reasonable at deliveries, but we really could do with both a left and right footed player being a threat at scoring directly from free kicks.

I did wonder at the West Ham and Brentford games if we were overplaying Tonali and Bruno as one of the reasons in the make-up for that troublesome day, and if it's the case that Tonali looked off it, that may add to that theory. Feel like we should be using Lewis Miley a bit more imo.

 

I'm aware Pope's error is one many keepers can but I guess having felt he could've done better with the goals conceded at West Ham, it isn't really helpful. Some of it is overblown, but I think if he keeps on making errors, his position between the posts has to be reviewed by default.

 

Guess its onwards to Everton and seeing if we can learn from recent misfortune on the road.
