Just a posh hotel for the cows 🐄

If it's the structure in E21, it was lit up inside during last years festival, people and vehicles were milling around it. We pitched less than 30 metres from it and got closer for a nosey!

When this popped up, I guess it was inevitable that more glamping was on the cards.image.thumb.png.0d81645a714571678fc9b0ae8f9deb6f.png

Isn’t that the structure in Love Fields ?

it was there for last years festival but I wasn’t at the previous one, so not sure when it went up..

edit : sorry meant 2023… I was ticketless in 2024

I think it's the same structure that's in my photo of E21.

The very existence of B&W as a Glastonbury motor home site is a disgrace. FFS to the best of my knowledge it’s not even in the same postcode.

Imagine having to get a bus to site and back every day, queue at pedestrian gates, possibly be searched and not be able to nip back to your van.

What a palaver

TBH I have stayed in both CV fields and I plump for B&W each time.

The bus is no bother really, it's a bit quieter than East, the search on entry is no more than what you get at Gate C, no queuing expect on the Wed to get in (which you get a bit at C, but yes A will take longer but again no bother really) and when in East I never once nipped back to the van. Took what I need for the day. Luckily enough I am still strong enough to carry it all, but the bag gets significantly lighter as the day goes on. So works for me, plus you get a bit more space, and hot showers and proper toilets, which for me makes it worthwhile nowadays.

It would be a huge shame to get rid of East as your other post eluded to, as it is better for people in other circumstances, like those with young families, etc.

Keep both IMO, let people decide what they are happy with.

Interesting to hear a detailed perspective.

Also agree on returning to van in CV East.  Can't recall doing it having stayed there for best part of 20 years.  In my case it's always been the hill, then I've been distant so through probably another 4 or 5 fields.  Ain't worth the time or energy.

This is within chucking distance of Avalon staff camping and the desire to throw eggs at them looking down on us peasant workers gets greater every year.

(Not that I would do that of course, don't sack me Avalon!)

So if you had a counterweight trebuchet (as featured on Hannah Fry's programme about lifts)...

Who are these people that would pay £45 just to avoid the overwhelming trauma of chucking a small sleeping bag, pillow and towel in the car?

Beggars belief tbh.

And that's for a child, the price is higher for adults........

It's all relative though those 'extra' prices for bedding are aimed at people willing to pay £1500 for a bell tent so as a percetage extra it won't seem too much I imagine.

I find it more mental that people pay extra money just for a plot of camping ground outside the festival when you can camp inside for free. Each to their own though and I can't afford any of those options.

We went down the campervan fields option in 2009, and at now a £200 per pass it's still pretty reasonable when you weigh up the cost of anywhere else. If I was still young and fit I would still be inside the fence! 😊

    • I thought some time back that I could see Get Down Services getting a slot in Woodsies
    • Tickets on sale when I'm abroad (I'm assuming this sells out in minutes), and the actual dates could not be worse for me work-wise. Still going to try to get tickets, of course, but god damn!
    • I'm personally confident that Slipknot will be one of the headliners next year (no insider info just lines up with them likely releasing an album soon)    Then there's the headliner that's never played the festival before which the bookers have alluded to so that's one of Blink, Foos, NIN, Nickelback and possibly Pearl Jam or even Bon Jovi    The third band I also think will be a new headliner who are being bumped up so Deftones, Offspring, Paramore Etc.    I'd love Slipknot, Foos and Paramore but realistically i'd go with Slipknot, Blink and Deftones
    • Loads of people have to listen to music they don't like all day, while at work!   Not much different.
    • Generally shorter too, I imagine. 🙂
