Graspop today announced Def Leppard, Sabaton, Alice Cooper and Callboy

Makes me wonder who their TBC headliner is

Probably whoever Download has that hasn't been announced for other festivals so either Guns n Roses or Ghost. The 2nd TBC for Graspop I think will likely end up being Slayer, probably sub main for Download.

Friday for Download Anthrax 4th on main, Twisted Sister 3rd on main, Slayer headline 2nd, Megadeth sub main and Guns n Roses headline

I don't get why more people aren't guessing Muse. Do people think they are just gonna fly to India to do one show in February and do nothing else next year?

They’re rumoured for Leeds fest by a source. I’d love MUSE to be at download though as I cba going to Leeds fest

I imagine Megadeth will do the Slayer slot and headline second on the Sunday, unless we have info that conflicts with that.

There was someone on Facebook that said their son went to the Q&A Megadeth did last week about their beer collaboration and apparently they said they're not at Download. Haven't seen anyone else mention this though.

Can't really see why they wouldn't be at Download based on their current tour dates as it still leaves the Friday and Saturday as an option for them.

If Megadeth aren't at Download and they're doing a UK tour later in the year (would need to be October-December) then hopefully we get Slayer instead

I was more drawn to Anthrax 4th on main??

Last time Anthrax played in 2019 they were 3rd down on 2nd stage before Slayer and Dream Theater.

Since then they've blown up in popularity quite a bit and for their most recent tour they sold out some big venues like the 02 Apollo in Manchester.

Based on them selling out venues like that they could even be 3rd on Main.

I think some people really overestimate some bands spots lol

Megadeth should not be subbing and Anthrax 3rd down is laughable despite how much I like them

Tbf Palaye Royale got 4th down on main this year so anything is possible

What's the likelihood for Alice Cooper, Evanescence and Alice in Chains playing? Their names floated around a while back but things have quietened recently.

Alice Cooper looking most likely out of those three

Don’t think Alice Cooper is likely. Hasn’t he got quite a big stage set up, is 77 and is playing Turkey on Saturday of Download so I’d almost say he’s probably quite unlikely

He's doing 3 dates in one weekend this summer

He could easily fit Download in with one other date

Because  LB could just as easily be headliner on Saturday at two different places. The reason why I bought Bad Omens in is because the place LB could could instead they are the only headliner announced and to play under LP Sunday would make more sense to play Greenfield Friday. They've got a big productions set to play Austria Thursday, Switzerland Saturday and then get setup the following day for Download for a set that would be earlier due to not headlining. That's why.

Have they been announced for Greenfields though

Baffles me R&L still trying to book rock bands as headliner for a day when the rest of the festival is so far from rock.

The whole thing felt so disjointed this year, really felt for the first time (to me at least) like three one-day events.

Yeah massively disjointed.

That’s how they’re going to make their money going forward, isn’t it.

Thing is though the older crowd will likely just stop going and paying. I don’t intend to go back next year unless it’s a truly unreal lineup. I just felt so out of place.

Reading and Leeds are settling into the old V festival mould. Plenty of cash but spreading its identity thinly. The problem is that with so many festivals to choose from and a more diverse audience in terms of taste, many are being jack of all trades.

Hopefully DL maintains Rock and Metal in the years to come.

    • I thought some time back that I could see Get Down Services getting a slot in Woodsies
    • Tickets on sale when I'm abroad (I'm assuming this sells out in minutes), and the actual dates could not be worse for me work-wise. Still going to try to get tickets, of course, but god damn!
    • I'm personally confident that Slipknot will be one of the headliners next year (no insider info just lines up with them likely releasing an album soon)    Then there's the headliner that's never played the festival before which the bookers have alluded to so that's one of Blink, Foos, NIN, Nickelback and possibly Pearl Jam or even Bon Jovi    The third band I also think will be a new headliner who are being bumped up so Deftones, Offspring, Paramore Etc.    I'd love Slipknot, Foos and Paramore but realistically i'd go with Slipknot, Blink and Deftones
    • Loads of people have to listen to music they don't like all day, while at work!   Not much different.
    • Generally shorter too, I imagine. 🙂
