To make it very clear for you, Download could ask 21 bands to headline and still shouldn't be asking a band to headline in their 4th year of touring straight in the UK, after doing Wembley Arena on their own tour and having just subbed R&L as well with an album that is 5 years old by next year. You can't use any argument as bad as that even for QOTSA being booked.

You just can’t help yourself can you?

I get it, nothing wrong with being ITK at all but some people are complete asshats about it. Personally I’ve made peace with the fact those are probably our headliners.

No smoke without a fire

On paper it's two stadium bands and one of the most popular bands in the world at the moment

It could of been a lot worse

I'm just worried about the undercard with how much GNR and LP will cost

Yeah I’m shocked it’s not been leaked by a credible person.

If GnR are headlining then hopefully we get Ghost instead of Limp Bizkit. Would also mean not having two headliners of the same genre.

It's odd that early on on here when the rumours first started a previous leaker said they had no clue where GnR came from and yet there are others with no track record and no proof outside of they heard it from a friend or something that it's GnR.

GnR would be more credible if they'd announced some dates for next year by now but then again even Rock For People is getting one offs like Gorillaz

Selfishly i'd prefer LB

I'd love for there to be a surprise european exclusive like NIN or Blink

Gorillaz aren't a one off they are doing many festivals next year.

They are literally doing Primavera the week before

Not really a great defense there is there, doesn't exactly disapprove my point. More proves it.

BMTH headlined a year when they had two main stages though one was obviously a bit smaller. They had the covid gap, done an few dates on an arena tour and played the R&L slot. It's not 4 years of heavy touring is it? Booking BMTH now would be crazy, even worse.

I've seen nothing about a new album but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

I'll be happy enough with the LB-GNR-LP if it is true.

I'm hoping it's going to be Ghost then any one of NIN/Muse/GNR and then the pretty much accepted LP.

If LB sub a day or headline the other than that would be fine as well. Probably best case scenario all round that 2nd grouping there.

Most seem to have Megadeth on and maybes get some of Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, Twisted Sister, Anthrax, Till Lindermann dotted about.

I'd be absolutely buzzing if Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies or Alice in Chains showed up but can't see it so not gonna get my hopes up.

It'll probably not be unbelievable and everyone will have a moan but it'll have enough on to appease most people and we'll all have a good time when we get there.

At worst I'll spend Spring listening to loads of new bands trying to work out whose going on the gig list.

Yeah that’s probably why we haven’t got Papa Roach Architects Offspring. Think the undercard will be solid though based on what bands are still left in the pool playing festivals next year.

As Judas has had insider knowledge before I'm not sure whether to believe this or not. I think GnR is codswallop personally based on nothing but vibes. I think it's LP/Ghost + one of Limp Bizkit or NIN at the moment. AFAIK there's nothing other than this longstanding rumour to suggest GnR are doing anything next summer, again, I think this was mostly escalated based on someone 'leaking' they were at Nova which turned out to be untrue.

Are you trying to say BMTH wouldn't headline if they played this year? Because that is a wild take.

Obviously you wern't about in the run up to 2024 when people were absolutely convinced it was Rammstein, Iron Maiden and A7X right up to the point it was announced it wasn't.

In fairness two of those bands subbed recently (23 and 24) and Download probably don't want to rebook someone for the same spot.

Or those bands wanted to headline and Download said no (wouldn't be shocked if Architects wanted to having done some arenas and number one album)

Who on here thinks it will be Bizkit, GnR and Linkin Park ???

I don't think Bizkit will be Friday purely based on being in the Czech Republic

Don't engage then man, no skin off my nose. You gave me an absolute pointless and nonsensical answer to a true point.

no, not at all. I'm saying booking BMTH given the fact they've not stopped touring the UK since 2021 would be beyond too much.

If someone could show me how the block function works (or if it even exists) this would be the easiest 2 second job in history. Guy is like the troll final boss of efests.

I can’t even remember how I did it but it’s been so much better being able to come here and not see his posts 😂 still catch the odd quoted post but I just scroll past. I think I’m getting the gist that he doesn’t want Limp Bizkit to headline still? He hasn’t posted about it much, though, so I can’t be too sure…

I can't imagine getting this bothered about who does or does not headline a music fest. They'll get who they get and that's it. The only real criteria is that they're popular and they fit in well with the intended audience. It's really not that deep.

Yeah good points. Though Papa Roach and some other bands are unlikely.
