Well based on touring in the UK and Europe, once in the last 3 years LB have played 3 days in a row covering Frankfurt, Belgium and Paris. They definitely aren't doing Czech Republic, Switzerland and then Download 3 days over. The distance to cover is way bigger. So they are either doing Download on Saturday or Greenfield on Friday or Saturday though I'd imagine if it's headline shows Saturday is more likely.

Tbh I don't think the other festivals announced so far are that strong either in terms of headliners

RIP is, no other festival in Europe has booked both LP and Maiden. They also have Volbeat who wouldn't headline Download but many think they would get the sub role and they also get headline roles at Nova Rock as who have had big pulls over the years. They were going to grab Slipknot, LP and Foos. I've never really seriously looked at going but that might have changed things. Tbh, Nova Rock don't have a bad set next year themselves either, The Cure being a great get but RIP wins.

Added onto your other post. While not caring for Maiden at all, it can't be overlooked they are a massive headliner.

So it's possible we end up not getting Limp Bizkit

Yes. You could still get Ghost, GNR, LP which personally if they have to get GNR I think it's the better outcome.

The festivals Limp Bizkit are headlining do seem to be the smaller ones so based on that it's probably more likely they'll be at Greenfields

I don't think that element will be the difference as they aren't headlining at RAR but Download have made a point about bringing in a fresh new up and coming headliner on the Saturday so to put LB there on a 4th straight year of touring and far from up and coming would be a bit odd. It might on the other hand help sales wise for anyone who wants to go wanting to justify paying that don't need to book a day off to go.

"Download have made a point about bringing in a fresh new up and coming headliner on the Saturday" - Did I miss something? Why Saturday in particular?

Limp Bizkit aren't exactly a band people will buy a festival ticket specifically to see, especially as a headliner.

Especially after already having done multiple years in a row here already.

Leeds Festival Sunday was full of people in red hats and Bizkit had a bigger crowd than the headliner. People will absolutely buy tickets to see them.

Didn't Leeds do awful this year though. Had shut off several camping sites and was half the capacity as normal?

Well they didn't put the new headliner on Sunday did they? It doesn't have to be the new headliner on Saturday, Friday would be the wiser choice and they likely wanted Green Day on Sunday really but they didn't make Korn the big Saturday night headliner. They just bumped them up one the same day they played last time.

I absolutely agree. I don't think the idea of using Leeds Festival that had a 60% capacity this year is any clear indication of a bands selling point whether it was bigger than the headliner or not. 60% is 60%

Yeah, weekend sales were terrible, which made it all the more obviously how many people had come for the day to see Bizkit.

If the rumoured 3 headliners are true, they’ll do much better day ticket sales than this year. All 3 including limp biskit have drawing power towards their own fan bases due to them being so passionate, the pull of linkin park isnt to be underestimated they sold out Rar and nearly RIP in the earliest its been in years.

That’s just based off someone saying they might get announced for Greenfields. Likely they might but we’ll see.

If they end up getting announced for Greenfields then outside of Linkin Park we have basically no clue who the headliners could be. Makes a change really

That’s down to the overall festival lineup being utter dross and them only trying to cater for 17 year olds

Yeah I’m shocked it’s not been leaked by a credible person.

Ghost | LB | LP still isn’t as “weak” as QOTSA | FOB | A7X, and I say that as someone who loved that trio of headliners. At this point who even knows what we’re getting though.

To make it very clear for you, Download could ask 21 bands to headline and still shouldn't be asking a band to headline in their 4th year of touring straight in the UK, after doing Wembley Arena on their own tour and having just subbed R&L as well with an album that is 5 years old by next year. You can't use any argument as bad as that even for QOTSA being booked.
