Way more likely to be Ghost than GnR let’s be honest. Even the organisers hinted at it. As alexs7 has mentioned the GnR rumour is just someone who mentioned Nova which they weren’t announced for and basically just saying that it’s happening with absolutely zero evidence or any history in being right in the past.

Why are people so adamant GnR are there? AFAIK the entire rumour about them came from a 'leak' which said they were at Nova which has now been proven false...

Cus my mate whose been told past 3 years by someone has said GnR so I just trust them

It would be a bit crazy if the undercard suffered for the one big expensive band no one really would want there, let alone the undercard to sugger for.

This!!! No one wants GnR I don’t see them being a pull especially if the undercard isn’t any good.

I am hoping my mate is wrong I really am and if people don’t want to believe me / say “trust me bro sources” I fully get it I don’t want to be right 🤣 Ghost would be way better.

On one hand I fully expect Ghost because they're a much better booking, they're actually active next year and the whole booking team was seen with the band but on the other hand it would very much be a very Download thing to go for Guns n Roses and not get Ghost for another decade

Wouldn't have any of them really. I think that's playing in my head really is I wouldn't choose to have any of the headliners apart from LP so while there would be preference on others, it's very narrow. A GNR with Axl sounding good would 100% be at the top but Guns, Muse, NIN, Ghost or LB headlining are of no interest. The main issue there is that there won't be a decent enough alternative option, there will be one that might overlap for 10 minutes if that and leave me with a dogtooth headliner or nothing.

Personal preference I’d be happy with anyone but GnR. Yes if he could sing it would be a bit different but I literally know 3 songs they’re way before my time.

🤣🤣🤣

Would NIN play? I'm not sure on them

Y'all assuming Bad Omens won't be in the mix despite them playing (and some headlining) other fests. Not that I'm a fan at all but given Download's last 2 years it wouldn't be a shock.

As someone else pointed out they are headlining the much smaller festivals. They are main supports at the larger festivals. Download would fit into the larger festival group. Plus this is their first arena tour and was announced likely well after download would have booked headliners. They also owe a lower card spot from 2024.

You would known more than 3 just maybe not by name. Download could have done with that next option like Green Day was to be touring next year as based on what's expected it'll just look like they had a fresher look for two years and reverted.

I dont think they will be, I'd expect tour sales to have needed to go much faster for that to happen.

You could say fhe same about LB, they aren't headlining RAR but are Resurrection Fest which is smaller. They also for example don't headline Graspop or HellFest.

To a certain extent yes with Limp Bizkit not headlining bigger show but they’ve got the history. Sleep Token didn’t headline RAR/RIP but headlined Download last year. So I think that rules out the Limp Bizkit arent headlining DL cus they aren’t headlining RAR. Granted the same argument could be said for Bad Omens to headline DL but I difference with them ST and LB is previous tour ticket sales. Think the numbers for Bad Omens will have come after headliners were booked and I don’t see them getting booked to headline if theyve not played a uk arena tour.

You should listen to Appetite For Destruction. Even if they don't play, it's probably a top ten album of all time.

Yeah its more so case and point are relevant. ST are fresher and newer on scene so I would really look at them as much though. Download clearly gave them the bump based on their previous actual festival position too early.

Shame that Architects won’t be booked. Unreal on Friday night, both the band and the crowd. Feels like the new album has really taken them up a level.

Gig of the year so far for me.

They are in the Parkway Drive camp of "too small to headline but wanting to increase from sub."

Both bands didn't sell full arenas and couldn't sell out the seats they had on sale (although Architects got so much closer.)

Pierce the Veil sold more at the Co-op which sort of surprised me but also didn’t.

Architects a solid sub booking, new album has serious shades of recent BMTH.

Yeah I mean really it is NIN and Muse I want, then the third headliner is a bonus for me. Already seen Ghost and I'm not really a big fan truth be told but would watch them. I haven't bothered listening to anything they have put out since the album I believe in 2018.

Impera which came out in 2022 is brilliant. I don't love their latest, but I don't hate it either. It sounds like a B-Sides collection for Impera to me so...

Ah yeah misred 2024 as 2025 lol sorry. I do remember hearing that, this year, Korn were originally set to sub Muse but then Muse said no.

I didn't hear this one. What I heard of 2025 was they were pretty much set to have Linkin Park and Green Day with a third cheaper headliner that they offered Sleep Token. Sleep Token didn't want to accept a low offer so said no and they offered it to Korn (who may or may not have been already lined up to sub LP), Linkin Park then decided to do their own shows so Download looped back around to Sleep Token. I didn't really hear anything about Muse being in negotiations for 2025. IIRC all their festival headline shows this summer were booked with them as late replacements too.

    • Wednesday is a nice addition imo
    • Kronenberg in a tent as well IIRC but Brooklyn Pilsner was easier to get without queueing and was everywhere across the festival.
    • I think they'll end up doing something due to pressure and bad PR. Maybe they do a discount code for next year or bar credit or something along those lines.    I agree though. I acknowledge that the lineup is huge but surely you can't cancel 33% of the headliners and not reimburse in some way. Their insurance will probably cover their fees for MA, Doja, Bad Gyal and Mac DeMarco due to force majeure.
    • Looks like nothing for weekend ticket holders. You'd expect a goodwill gesture.
    • Enough has been covered about how much of a sh*t show that was, so I'll just say, Massive Attack and it's relationship with this festival (and potentially me) are f**king cursed.    They were announced in 2020 when I first got excited about seeing them. They were subsequently on the poster for 21, 22 and now 26. This time I was in actually in the crowd close to the stage waiting for them twice haha. I give up!
