Wouldn't rule out Blink 182 personally. Doing the US with what looks to be a really good setlist with some nice rarities. Might be a safer bet for them than moving up to a stadium.

They did late summer EU fests last time time out so I can deffo see them doing early summer ones next summer.

It feels like they’ve been touring for years since the comeback. Can see the shows they’ve got announced being their last for a while but next time they tour Europe in the summer it’ll be early summer festivals for sure & Download will be in it but I just don’t think it’ll happen next year.

Muse I think will be touring their next album rather than doing the festivals

Tbf they did festivals in 2022 when Will of the People came out and in 2015 when Drones was released. So it wouldn't be that unexpected for doing the festivals and promoting a new album to be one and the same. Guess it depends how much progress they make with the new album.

Even if I imagine some might prefer it if they took note of next year being 20 years since releasing Black Holes & Revelations and just playing that top-to-bottom.

You're right, maybe the album comes out and they do some festivals before doing a proper tour through 2027. I get the feeling they will just tour the album properly next year though, since they did festivals this year. It is just that they happened to not have any UK festivals this year.

Also, they did nothing for Absolution's 20th even though they toured all through 2023. So I don't expect much for BHAR 20th.

I'm just not sold that they will be doing any festivals. But maybe they do DL or R&L as a "pre-tour" show.

Yeah in 2023, they played just Butterflies & Hurricanes and Apocalypse Please at a few gigs as a notice of the anniversary. Although Absolution is quite a stop-start album alternating between heavy and quiet songs, so I felt it wouldn't necessarily be the best to do in full. Maybe Black Holes we'll get just a few extra runs of Assassin.

I was kinda surprised at European but no UK dates in 2025 tbf. But as they said "we'll see you next year" after playing Pinkpop, it hints they are going to be doing gigs in 2026 in Europe. Guess we'll see what level that is in due course.

I think they got drafted in to replace foo fighters in a lot of instances, Hellfest boss said as much in his interview

Don’t know if it’s the same at Slam Dunk south but the second “main stage” at north is tiny in comparison to the actual main stage. And the well know Temple Newsam sound issues are shocking. On that basis I’d have said the top three were ADTR, Neck Deep then Electric Callboy.

ADTR were meant to play Temple Newsam the weekend of Slam Dunk but then covid happened, we were waiting years for a make up do.

That may be the case. Thought someone people will tell you because the stage ADTR and Electric Callboy were on can sit next to each other on a poster they are billed the same lol.

so from what is being said on the Glasto tour announcement page SOAD & QOTSA are doing a show at Tottenham, but date is TBC

I hope that doesnt mean QOTSA supporting them in the show but it's fairly obvious it would. Very drab choice personally but it shows what a poor choice QOTSA was to headline Download if so.

Interesting. If true rules SOAD out (and QOTSA but don’t think they were considered for 2026 anyway). Makes the available headliner pool thinner. With doing their own shows/tours think it’s fair to rule out:

- SOAD (if true)

- Metallica (tour)

- Def Leppard (tour)

- MCR (Wembley)

- Deftones (tour)

- Biffy (tour)

- Green Day Korn Sleep Token (played last year)

- A7X, FOB and QOTSA (played 2024 so IMO too soon to play again)

Have I missed any other headliner or potential headliner that’s been somewhat ruled out due to tours/shows?

Be interesting to see who it leaves.

I don't think any of those have been that realistic for a while. The very best outcome would be that Blink play next year and Maiden and LP do it too. I think the only trio that would beat that currently for me would be Blink, Maiden and SOAD and I say that because I had such a good gig for LP at Wembley and position, all I really need them to play is Points of Authority and From the Inside and they haven't yet played both of those on their whole tour so it's likely you would just get one in an altered tour from Wembley. They also know Wembley sold very well and many thousands didn't get tickets so it's not massively necessary to change much up.

They got the double dip of rescue headliner money last year!

Hooray for availability am I right?

I'm assuming they might be restructuring some of their plans given I was thinking they might have been in talks to do some of these festivals for 2026 but having now done them this year, new things will be needed to build a tour around.

Well that rumour seems true and rules SOAD out of download which is a shame.

Given they’ve announced “early bird” has “sold out” do you reckon they’ll announce headliners earlier? Not full lineup just maybe headliners. Them saying late bird prices is obviously a marketing ploy to get people to panic buy before the lineup is announced.

You'll pick up a Download ticket no bother if you want one. They probably just sold less early bid too. Late bird is awful marketing lol. Wouldn't ever consider purchasing a ticket until that lineup drop is done. With Download, you need to know who's could ideally be on the dogtooth stage as it's the only stage that clashes with main.

If it’s spurs I suspect the QOTSA co-headline rumour must be false, unless they’re planning multiple dates.

I don’t see System or QOTSA needing a ‘co-headliner’ to shift 50k tickets for a one off gig.

Queens wouldn't do a gig themselves at Spurs stadium that's 60k tickets, they've also only just finished touring. Let's be honest, SOAD aren't going to play Rock and Roll Circus in Sheffield are they. There is definitely no co-headline about it, SOAD aren't coming over to share duties.

Multiple dates is possible with that Manchester date talked about, bit theh won't be doing multiple London venues or you would just do Wembley.

As far as I heard, Qotsa are support band for all SOAD shows in Europe, don’t know about festivals

Why would it be false? I don't see how it contradicts the notion that QOTSA are there
