Glad to see no stupid clashes for Olivia, so a run of Girl in Red, Caity Baser, The Last Dinner Party & Olivia is doable, that will be a decent run. It would have been nice if Florence Road was on early in the day and not clash with TLDP but you can't have everything. Should be a good fun day.

I haven't seen the set times but Florence Road clashing clashing the only other act I'm really bothered with isn't ideal.

Edit: Florence isn't clashing with TLDP, there is a 5 minutes space.

Thanks, it was Caity Baser they clash with. The other half is a fan of Caity so we will end up watching her.

Not sure how that can come as a surprise.  Not sure the target audience is 40 + men on their own.

BST have certainly targeted well this year as ticket sales and no doubt merch sales will show.  The line to me was….dad I can’t decide can I just have 2 😂

Oh and no chance I’d bother in the future unless I got a Golden Circle ticket. It’s crap that fans are so separated.  People on the barrier (the general admission one) for hours yet still a long way back

I'm not 40+ but is it a case now that a bloke shouldn't be able to go to a gig to see music they like. I knew it was a yougner crowd, but there is a lot of peopel here that like Olivia and did Taylor and they aren't 13. I just didn't think it would be that bad.

It doesn't bother me fans being separated, from a personal view it wouldn't be worth it for viewing purposes alone to go without a having a ticket inside that section. People on the barrier is fine but I'm not the only one to comment on the amount of people on the floor being a tad annoying. It wasn't even that bit to be honest, it's just a hindsight thing that I should have known but I wanted to go and didn't have £170/80

It's definitely apparent than Olivia appeals to a very young crowd, more on the female side. The crowed that are older here are generally bringing their kids. When I walked in I was like this I'd like a creche lol.

Very true and it did feel like being in a creche but I was surprised by how young the crowd was. I saw her at the O2 last year and most of the crowd were teenage girls and young women with some kids, so expected the same demorgraphic/mix. However, yesterday really was lots and lots of very young children mainly girls with parents. It was like her fan base age was slashed in half. I have never been to a  concert with such a young crowd. Kids these days most listen to much more complex material then I did when I was 6 or 7. Maybe its just me but are her lyrics really appropriate for very young kids.

Glad it's not just me. It's not she was decent, it's just it was the wrong environment/gig for me to attend. I literally looked to my right a couple of times with no purpose, just casually and there was a young girl next to me that made a remark to suggest my eyes had other intentions. It's pretty bad when you can't even look around without a younger girl thinking you're purposely being weird. Sometimes I actually just look to see if there is a better space to stand in for a view being shorter.

Think it’s easier taking the kids on a Friday to a nice day out in London rather than an o2 gig (think it was harder to get tickets too, ballot wasn’t it?)

I get the lyric thing and we tried to shield our kids from it early on but this day and age seems impossible.  She’s pretty inoffensive tbf barring a few f**ks.

Yeah, that makes sense and a park is a nicer place to take kids rather then get them to behave in a seated venue.

I think you were right, it was a ballot systen and it would be a nightmare to get family tickets especially if also trying to buy for friends/extended family. It did look like mnay people were in parent groups with a hoard of kids between them.

Yeah, well glad I was with my partner. I even felt a little odd as an older couple to be there, I can't say I have ever felt that way before. It was really not a day to attend on your own as a man or group of men. Sad really but these days people make judjements.

I love people watching at festivals admiring outfits etc even if if it's just to watch out for obscure band t-shirts and to see if someone has good taste and likes the same group as me. This was one of those days when it was prudent not to people watch without coming across as creepy but I did smile at all the dads forced to wear "dad idea right?" shirts.

Very true. It shouldn't be like that though, you should be able to attend a music event you like without being judged.

Also, the difference between wembley last night and hyde park friday was absolutely night and day. Belting out the majority of the songs, a great view, the experience and the time had pound for pound there is no comparison. I think ive done right getting them in here rather than at Werchter too. They are getting 1hr 30 there and will likely do very close to their Hell Fest set which is fine but the extra 30 minutes and what they give in in that for me is worth it. So I'll likely catch then at Download again and they'll get an extra 20 minutes there too as most headliners get 1hr 50 there. I'll be happy to take a step back a bit though to view it now I've had the closer view or really good view more like but that's not getting beat and inevitably that's the difference in what you get from a fully paid separate gig and a festival cut down version. You might say I've gone to Werchter for a similar cost without going lol. Iggy Poo for The Passenger and Tom Odell are all I'm missing.

Yeah and in all honesty good on them.  On the train down there were loads of families all dressed up and ready for a good day.  With the introduction of Tik tock, Instagram etc… it’s going to open these type of artists to people at a younger age so not surprising that the average age is dropping I guess.

And btw, I agree that everyone should feel confident at a gig/festival but sadly so many sleazy people out there that now most automatically get treated that way too.  There’s a reason there’s all these keep women safe at festivals/gigs stalls about.

Can't lie, I'd have taken an 02 gig all day over the bst gig. The difference between olivia bst though and sat down/stood up at linkin park last night at Wembley was chalk and cheese. The experience as a whole isn't even comparable for me. Some of the best gig money I've spent last night was. Glad I chose that option too for the longer set.

I may have biases tbf as I don't like BST Hyde Park so much as a venue as for me, the sound feels too thin compared to stadiums or even festivals, where it feels like they can turn the volume up a whick.

Indeed I had that experience with seeing Pulp twice in the last 2 years, and found the experience of seeing them at the O2 better than when I saw them at Finsbury Park in 2023.

I can also imagine that with Linkin Park at Wembley, Iron Maiden at the Olympic Stadium and something going on at this yesterday that the tubes were pretty rammed.

I didnt find tubes that bad, no worse than usual for Friday and Saturday. I arrived later yesterday but it was fine, I didnt tubes back from wembley park to stanmore until midnight time after meeting friends which was easy. Friday they shut hyde parker corner so it was just a walk to Green park but even then in funneled out and in fine for the people.

I said I would never do hyde park because of the sound, but it was the view that was the problem. To be honest with the arrangement of how GA is, again I wouldn't even attempt it without a better ticket guaranteeing to be closer. Whether I'll see her again or not I don't know as the demographic isn't going to change and while there is a bit of regret, I dont think it's an event that should have hindered me attending.

I have bought ticket for Neil Young on 11 July.

Ticketmaster account still showing "we will email when tickets" ready

When, in relation to gig date, does this happen? How many days before the gig?

Sometimes you need to signed into TM and like AXS as well to load it.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
