If you like Gaslight Anthem then Spanish Love Songs are well worth a listen!

Lauran Hibberd is great fun too, always good live and good humour. Not to be taken too seriously.

Cleopatrick are pretty cool. Bit of a Royal Blood vibe but a bit heavier.

The Xcerts are great live. Scottish rock band with pop punk elements.

Dune Rats are a sick little skater punk band from Australia. Similarities to FIDLAR in their sound/vibe.

Thanks for the steer. I did not even notice Lauren Hibberd on the poster. Seen her a few times and as you say good fun.

It seems I am going to my first 2000 Trees this year. I told my girlfriend, I had entered a NHS ballot for tickets on Concert for Carers as I liked a few bands.

I am not really expecting to win but as my partner would not want to camp if I did win, she started looking for hotels just in case I get lucky. I told her what bands I would like to see and mentioned that Thumpasaurus are playing as she is a big fan. Once, I mentioned them she wanted to know how much tickets cost. They are doing the £50 off for weekend tickets and so we got from me casually saying I had entered a draw to booking tickets. I am always entering NHS draws and must have entered over 200 for Concert for Carers and won 16 times, so really thought it unlikely I will win.

When I look at the poster its a case of bands I like and know and go to see or the bulk of it is people I know nothing about. Obviously, if i dont want to become single,so we are going to see Thumpasaurus 😃. Most of the names, I dont have a clue about.

I am a fan of The Gaslight Anthem, Cassette, Empire State Bastard, Crawlers, As December Falls, Dead Pony, Creeper, Frank Turner, Don Broco, Static Dress & Hot Milk.

There are others, I have seen at festivals or in support slots and so am aware of their sound i.e Bob Vylan, The Mysterines, King Nun, Nova Twins, The Pale White, Bears in Trees, & Pet Needs .

I already plan to listen to Hot Mulligan & The Chats as I have heard of them but have not actually heard their tunes.

So, if anyone has any recomendations of who is worth a listen to before going I would be gratful of the advice. There is clearly more on the poster, I dont know then bands I am familar with.

Spanish Love Songs are fantastic

Manchester Orchestra

Lonely the Brave

Does anyone know when Blanket are playing? I'm sure James announced them on 2P1P last week but can't see anything confirming it on the lineup / website.

Should find out by the end of the week when they have the clashfinder out.

They've replaced someone I believe because he's said previously they were top of his list if anyone pulled out.

Would recommend Mould who are playing on the Saturday. Saw them last weekend in Leeds. Really inventive three-piece from Bristol. The bassist jerks around like Ian Curtis - looks quite like him too. The drummer is absolutely brilliant as well

    • Yeah what was up with Jai. Not great tbh. Would like to hear other opinions bc I didn't really like him
    • Ethel Cain and Brutus to bookend the day were my highlights. Had been listening to Brutus a bit over the last few weeks and had no clue the vocalist was the drummer, insane workload! Ethel was just other-worldly, and even managed to shut the yappers in the crowd up.   Lana was late, flat, but I was stood near the back and away from the masses and it was alright. Ocean Boulevard stood out, not least because her backing singers seemed to know how to perform better.    Even stuck around for most of The National and really enjoyed a band I've never got on board with before. Just so much good music happening!
