I think it would be a farce, but what else have tories got? he is an election winner, he is a celeb, he is mr brexit booster and won't say all the horrible depressing realty bite things like Sunak...he is probably exactly what this country doesn't need at this time...but we are rapidly becoming a bit of a joke...so maybe makes sense.

..at least Johnson seems to take net zero a bit more seriously...and he did talk about levelling up which is basically another word for redistibuting wealth...if he could just shake off the populist bollocks he might not be that bad...(trying to find positives).

yeah maybe, well it was always going to be a long term project, there is no quick fix, and he did put Gove in charge who does seem to be someone who takes his job seriously and gets things done...but the cash wasn't there from Sunak so his plans became a bit of a damp squib. But at least there were some ideas, some thought had gone into it, unlike under Truss who just thought it was best to make wealthy wealthier.

gove is treading water waiting for something  - not his chance to be leader, cos right now is the easiest chance to be leader that there will ever be.

I just don't think Johnson is as right wing as the other candidates, especially in terms of economics. All comes down to if he fills the cabinet with sycophant loonies again.

It would be strangest and unpredictable election in history I think.  I don't think the polling would be useful.

Boris is still hugely popular with enough of the country to make Keir feel uncomfortable.  He would defo rather take on anyone else.

Polling isnt 100%, but 25-30 points labour lead is fairly strong indication what would happen

This is what I mean, the amount of leeway people are willing to give Johnson is incredible. He was in charge before and did absolutely nothing.

Data I shared last night showed Johnson was really unpopular before he left office. If a person has an open mind (or isn’t a moron) they can view that data and see what it means.
