Sunday Night

Is the late area any quieter on a Sunday night?

I only have a Sunday ticket this year and was planning to do an all nighter, so am hoping to spend a lot of it in the late night venues. I remember one year we were in the Hell stage until it closed on the Sunday, and it seemed to be a bit easier to get in, and not as busy as it had been on previous nights.

My thinking is that by Sunday night people will be all 'partied out', so may opt out of heading for the late night area. Also i guess some people have to drive back early Monday and may not want a late one Sunday.

So, is it right to assume it's a bit quieter on the Sunday?

Cheers

Last year I tried to get in the last night area and they had announcements and signs everywhere around 1130pm saying "se corner is shut, find another place to party" or something like that. I was a bit mad because i was supposed to meet my friends in there. I'm not sure if they opened it later or not but I didn't hang around to find out. Stayed up until 7am partying in the park.

Hi BFD

Yes, the South East Corner is not as busy on Sunday, but is brilliant as everyone there really wants to eek out every last drop of the festival!

Interestingly, there are more venues that are going all the way through this year.

Gas Tower and Clash in Shangri La are listed as having acts until 0600h on the Monday morning. Not sure if this is a small error on the line-up as I don't remember anywhere officially running beyond 0500h - compared to 0600h on the Saturday and Sunday mornings, if that makes sense. Given that both are listed until 0600h, it seems that Shangri La is taking over as the very last entertainment on site! Unfairground venues going until 0500h.

And Stonebridge, Rabbit Hole and Funkingham Palace are going until 0400h so there is a fair old selection of places that can provide that wonderful Sunday all-nighter!

Last year we went after Earth Wind and Fire. The proximatey to West Holts and the fact the headliner on West Holts finishes slightly earlier means its easy beans to get in but fills up within an hour or so past headliner.

Sunday has always been my day of choice for a SE corner visit. I do think it used to be noticably easier to get in and wander about though, and is getting busier every year.

My all-nighter on sunday night 2014 was my favourite glastonbury night of the lot. Also seem to remember casually strolling around in 2011 and it wasn't busy at all, and that was when Arcadia was still down there.

If you wanna wait until the it gets a bit quieter in the SE corner then I can't recommend Jono Ma's DJ set at crows nest Sunday night.

usually goes to 3am ish. Great party not too packed. Can mill in and out and take in the views.
