Anyone else having to arrive on the Friday ??

Wednesday and Thursday are great for seeing the rest of the site before all the music on the main stages kick off, you'll just have to cram it all in in the 3 days.  Although seeing everything in one year isn't always possible so you'll just have to go again if you get chance.

Thanks, just grateful that I can go even if a bit later than the majority

If it's your first time there see if you can set aside a few hours one late afternoon / evening to properly explore the green fields and SE Corner before it gets dark.  You'll miss some bands but given you're down two days of exploration time it'll give you a better feel for the scale and diversity of the place.

I'd say it's fine if you're in Worthy View. You'll get a good nights rest on Thursday and be fresh for three days ahead. In reality sacrificing the first two days will probably mean you have a better time over all, by a Sunday I'm just a shell of a man! As others have said it its your first time you'll just not get the chance to see as much so you will have to go again.

Every year I try and convince my other half to come. She is a teacher (who takes her job far too seriously), I tell her she could come down on thursday night and pull a sickie on the Friday and Monday. She never has any of it. But then she moans because her birthday is on the 23rd June. You can't win.

The other big Brucie bonus is there'll be no traffic issues on the road or queues to get into the site.

I'd definitely be aiming to get there as early as possible to give you time to get set up and still have a good nosey around before pints and bands o'clock late morning.

Due to hubby's work I can't set off until early Friday morning,  It's not ideal but better than not going at all.

Anyone else in this position and will it dampen my very first experience especially going solo ?

Definitely better than not going at all - you'll have an amazing time.  If there's any leeway whatsoever to get there late Thursday night then do that, otherwise as has been said, asap (whatever that happens to be for you) on Friday.

You won't miss anything, people go for years and still find new things / find things get changed, relax and have a wander, stop if something's interesting.

I think my excitement has gone into overdrive.... I have told worthy View that I will be arriving Friday on the bookings page, would it be OK if I got there late Thursday night ???

Of course - you're not paying them any less.  My guess is they like to have an idea of when they need to have things prepared by (they ask the same for campervan fields) but they will have people arriving all the time.

Thats perfect - give you time to dump stuff in tent and go onto site and have a wander/get your bearing/ and have a few hours of fun on Thursday before the main music starts - I'd be in my car, engine started waiting for hubby to get home if I were you - don;t miss a moment if you can help it

Even if you get there at 3am I think most people here would agree it's still worth a walk-around at that time.  Unless it's raining / muddy, I can go into energy conservation mode, but you'll have just arrived so should be ready to go

If you can do this then definitely do. Gives you a good chance to have a look around away from the main stages. Have fun - it's an amazing place :)

Contact them to let them know you intend to come earlier now if you can. Can't do any harm and if you get there by 8 there will be lots you can do on the Thursday night with most areas having something on.

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
    • I have a spare campervan pass to get rid of.  unable to use Kaboodle as it is only entry that they re-sell
