Bring your own Tipi

Hi Folks!

Can you still bring your own tipi and put it up near the actual tipi field before you go into the stone circle area?

Potentially have the chance to borrow one rather than camping as normal but wanted to see if anyone has actually done it recently :)

Cheers

I'm not sure what the deal is with the 'actual' tipi village, but I think there's probably more to it than just rocking up with your own tipi and pitching in with them.  You probably need to know someone or have had previous dealings with them to check that it's OK.  The field probably has some sort of formal order and layout that's more-or-less invisible to the average punter.

We got talking to one of the residents last year and it turned out he was one of the owners of a number of the public rental tipis, so at the very least they're involved with that side of the fence.

Yeah I think we probably met the same guy I have already reached out to a few other people and your right about it being more who you know than what you know :)

The people who have the BYO tipis have early vehicle access. I guess there must be some way of sorting it out.  I can't help with how to access it, other than say try the festival office.

This is right too - would be a struggle carrying a tipi's poles - the festival put me in contact with someone else a freidn already reached out to so if we do bring a tipi it should be all good - thanks guys!

    • This!   Biffy Clyro I don't think would ever get asked, I just don't think it us their scene and it certainly wouldn't be a wise move for them after how the Finsbury Park show went. If they ever had a chance of regaining or staying a bit higher up taking Slam Dunk isn't how you do it. For the cost of it now I think being into the main headliner does make a difference though.
    • Sabrina I actually think is alright, but as an overall thing including Fontaines in the mix it does look very boring.
    • I went to the O2 show as had cheap NHS tickets. I did love the whole Machine Gun Kelly vs MGK Emo/Pop Punk stuff amusing and could see that show going down well. I thought it was so funny watching the video skits of a die hard old skool fan gradually morphing in to an Emo Kid. That show with less old Machine Gun Kelly tunes and more MGK Pop-Punk would be ace.   Pair him against a heavy act on the other stage and jobs a goodun,
    • Not sure if this is allowed, but I have an additional daily ticket which I’m willing to sell for a heavily reduced price. If you, or someone you know wants to go that day, but wouldn’t for the original price, let me know.    Edit: It’s for Friday
    • Couple of standing tickets left on ticketmaster if anyone is still trying
