So awful. We need to do something to remember. I wonder if a moments silence could be held in the park area on the Wednesday eve, or similar? It seems wrong not to do something given how grateful we all are to the amazing people on site, this really is tragic.

Saw a stove catch fire in a tent by gate D last year....fortunately it only managed to set fire to the front of the tent and was put out quicky but the way it went up off the stove looked like too much cooking oil. Was a close shave for the people.

Dreadful news to start the festival with.

Awful story...just reading that report...we all bitch about the mud but it highlights the difficult circumstances that people who are putting on an amazing festival for us have to work under.

"Firefighters on site were reported to be hampered by mud and access roads blocked by stuck vehicles as they tried to reach the scene"

Hopefully some lessons can be learnt with access for emergency vehicles though i guess there is only so much they can do in the circumstances.

Stay safe this week people. Just highlightshelp is not always at hand immediately.

Someone has set up a Crowdfunding page to raise money in his memory:

https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/katrina-king

This was set up by my wife earlier today..... she just felt like we should do something to share the Glastonbury love at such a terrible sad time for that family - especially when we are all going to benefit from this kind of guy's work in prepping things for us to enjoy.....

Proud of my Mrs....!!

However, this was done with no knowledge of who this person/family actually is or even the full details of the events - it just seemed so sad!  If anyone does have any info - or even know how we can get the family contact details, please PM me!! We've no idea how to get any monies raised to the family!!!  (BUT it WILL go to them somehow!).  I've emailed Festival Office and my wife has given her details to the local press reporting on it - but no info so far.

Thanks all....

chucked a fiver in, tell the Mrs was a good idea and worth honouring the poor man's memory. I feel for his family. Must have been a horrible way to go.

She did the right thing - and i'm sure it'll get to the right place even if it has to go via the festival

    • I saw that the payment method is contactless wristbands - I understand you collect them at the festival site and can top them up there as well? Yes, there are top up points, keep the recepe if you want to withdraw the money in the end   How much does food and drink usually cost at the festival? We would like to know how much money we should prepare for the festival. Beer, Wine etc. 5€, Gin tonic, Whishkey Cola were 6-6.5€, food 10€    Is there a bus from the festival site to the city center? And are there any stops along the way? No offical info yet, but ussualy there are free festival buses from Ljubljanica to festival site, with few stops on the way. Nice to get to the festival but crowded from festival back to the city.   Where is the best place to find an Uber/Bolt to return from the festival site? Petrine ulica   Are there any shaded areas to take a break from the strong sun? Yes, i think there is some.
