So pilton is predicted from tomorrow evening what could be 24 hours of heavy rain - now surely with all the site and ground saturated - would the car parks not be a health and safety nightmare - you can bet that some one will be monitoring this from the powers that be

Not much chance of the festival being cancelled imo the purple car park is currently totally closed but they are hoping that will be open by tomorrow or Monday all the other car parks are OK to my knowledge. As for inside the festival it's nothing to worry about

I'm not saying the festival is cancelled but if the car parks become water logged this will like it or not cause serious issues

It's a farm, I'm more than happy for a tractor to pull me in.

Then why not at leat put a question mark in the thread title? [see it's dead easy]

in terms of waterlogged car parks it may cause some issues but the whole GFL crew have a lot of experience in dealing with muddy festivals and the main access routes into car parks all have metal trackways laid.

Of course they have tracks but you have to drive of the tracks to park - one of the issues with rain at Glastonbury is that the ground is clay so it doesn't drain as fast - I'm not all doom and gloom but this could become a real problem

You only have to drive off the track for perhaps the last 20-50 meters to get to the parking space and given the way they park the cars your really diving directly in the path of the car infront so it's not as much of and issues.

But if the car parks are muddy  remember low gear & low revs.

No problem what so ever, Glastonbury isnt a local village fete buddy.

Metal tracks get you to the field, once in, cars dont aimlessly drive around they drive on the same patch of grass once, different everytime. Then parked and thats that.

Be absolutely fine. The track on site will no doubt be ruined because of the constant use by 4x4s, HGVs and tractors but we r used to this.

    • Yeah, I was just joking.
    • Ahhh if anyone manages to grab a spare one of these, would love one! Haven’t been in years & just don’t have the budget, so this would be so amazing!
    • it's already twice as expensive as it used to be just a few years ago, so surely there's not a lot of room for them to increase it much further now. I'd hope not anyway as it's already prohibitively expensive!
