I do get the appeal of Wild Is The Wing, but it doesn't really work for me.

Anyway, isn't he supposed to rise from the dead today, like Lazarus? It's been four days.

For years I was a rockist 'anything post diamond dogs is rubbish' naysayer but I learned the error of my ways a few years ago.  as hinted previous i think that was the fault of chronological greatest hits compilations. A lot of the later singles don't work well out of context after the ziggy guitar based stuff- especially when you're a teenage metalhead that musically grew up too late and now regrets the years of refusing to listen to loads of good stuff. 

Can't nail it down to one. 

Probably hunky dory or aladdin sane or station to station or ziggy or low or heroes. If you want to come at me, I think side two of heroes is better than side two of low. And I do love low. 

Was only on a wind up chief. Im sure that over the course of the next days and weeks people will happen upon a song or album that for whatever reason either hits a sweet spot following his death or rings true with them for the first time.

"Win" is a tune that really only hit heavy rotation this week fr'instance. Also regained love the massive-attackyness of when the drums on "Sunday" kicks in at the end. If _only_ they'd go on for another while.

I've been listening to some of Bowie's less appreciated tracks this last couple of days.  I tell thee, Tin Machine I is about 10 times better than Never Let Me Down.  Apparently Tin Machine II is the real stinker, but that's not on Spotify.

Buddha of Suburbia is also pretty good.

I'm really not. I've already said my comment about Elvis being 'just' a singer was a joke. I was making a joke that he wasn't as important as Bowie 'because he didn't write his own songs' just because I prefer Bowie.

In reality I am acknowledging everything you are saying about Elvis and his status to many and pointed out his gigantic influence on the Lennon/Beatles as an example. He is a bigger icon than everyone else, perhaps the first rock icon. He did change everything. My last post was explaining why in my opinion Bowie was possibly just as important - for different reasons. 

But Bowie's still better
