Why no Green Police?

Does anyone know why they don't have the Green Police anymore chasing down people weeing in the hedges? They were so effective, and such a great addition to the festival.

As they seem to have really been pushing the don't wee in the hedges rule this year (well done them) it seems an odd thing to not have.

I don't know the reason, but they haven't been there for a couple of years. I miss them, I regard myself as an unofficial member because I shout at anyone pissing where they shouldn't!

I noticed they weren't there last year and it seems such a shame. They were entertaining and doing a vital job at the same time.

I would definitely volunteer for next year.

Gaia's Guardians were there and came through our campsite a few times to remind people.

Really? Never thought they were particularly effective.

I always thought they were up and around the stone circle.

Yeah they were quite good up in Kings Meadow, if they saw someone walking towards a fence they'd run at them shouting, it worked most of the time

I thought the reason they abandoned the idea was they weren't very effective for the numbers involved, ie a group of about 6. So it was an efficiency thing rather than effectiveness.

I loved the Green Police, it used to be great fun watching them having a go at people who dropped litter.

I was talking with a member of the security about this at the entrance to Shangri-La around 2am Monday morning and she told me that a number of people had complained that they felt they were getting harassed by the Green Police, so they stopped them. I do hope they bring them back. The festival really needs them...

Totally. Infact it's not harassment at all. I guess some people just really hate being told what to do (even if what they are doing is wrong and they know it)

If i remember rightly the green police weren't organised by the festival but an outside organisation who decided it was time to stop.

I used to love them and the mass jeering of a crowd as they shamed someone peeing in a hedge
