Pay Day Weekend - Last Minute Essentials!

Just placed my narcs order ready for delivery in early June....just got to trust myself to not do half of it before I get to the festival this time!

I know what you mean... somehow I have managed to exercise self restraint recently and have been put in charge of hanging on to my mates order for him so he doesn't do it!

I got a supply of that 5-HTP stuff based on several recommendations on here and it just arrived.

Looking forward to a seratonin boost just as the horrors threaten to consume all in their path

What is this 5-HTP stuff you speak of?

Payday - my new job starts next Tuesday so my first pay packet is the 28th of every month so June 28th onwards - gutted lol

So on 28 May, withdraw all the money you can manage for GF, give it to someone you trust and tell 'em not to give yo a penny until the evening of Tuesday 23 June!

I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) it's an electrolyte that produces serotonin in your brain. Haven't used it but people here love it!

It's used for fighting the depressing hangover / comedown. I don't think it will cure the hangover, only you won't want to stay in you tent all day!

Apparently too much can give you Serotonin Syndrome, someone here might clear that up as I'm not sure what that is / how it affects you

Hope that helps!

Bottle of Lenor for the tent, travel johns for out and about if you're caught short.

A titanium spork is a good idea for the day-bag as well.

Travel tissue.

Mints (they'll help keep you feeling fresh).

Please, please don't use travel Johns, no one ever empties them and the recycling crew have to deal with them........use the toilets!

Lenor bottle saved loads of hassle last year.

Only problem was I bought the black one and couldn't easily see in the dark how much I had to go before filling it. I had to rely on listening to the pitch as it got higher the closer I got to the top, panicking that it was going to overflow and I'd been washed out of the tent on a surf of warm piss while all around shone torches on me and laughed.

Didn't happen once but getting a clearer bottle this year.

Can you not chuck the whole thing in the long drop once it's full?

I was thinking of buying them but not if its going to be a problem!

    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
    • Same. Shower and back out in a taxi!
