Better Call Saul

Yeah I can't see Better Call being cancelled soon, so I'd say it's entirely up to the creators when they want to end the series, for now at least.

I think it's fantastic that BrBa is having new life breathed into it by Better Call, but recently that's all I feel Better Call is, an extension of Breaking Bad. The first few episodes really got me interested and I didn't even think of Breaking Bad whilst watching it but recently I've been finding it hard to see past the fact it is just a BrBa spin off (A great one nonetheless.)

To be fair, though, this may be down to me re-watching Breaking Bad at the same time as watching Better Call, so I've been reminded of BrBa's near-flawlessness.

It's just been consistently fantastic since it began.

I didn't find the first maybe second (if I remember correctly) episodes amazing but I didn't mind as it's setting the whole series up from the off. I'll pop round my mate who has Netflix & a monster TV & catch up this weekend.

if you had to only watch one more episode for it then it has to be the Mike episode.

I'm wondering if next weeks final episode...

Will be the start of Saul Goodman.

He no longer has the "fight" against the other McGill (it was his brother all along) and presumably not wanting to keep the same surname as his brother either.0

Will he hand over the class action and the other McGill say "thanks, Jimmy" and he say "it's all good, man" and KERCHING lightbulb-above-head moment?

Maybe.

As it contains the major plot development of the episode just released, yes I think so.

But im under the impression that this thread can say what it wants about episodes once they are released on Netflix UK. I dont think anyone with a brain-cell in their head would visit this thread after a Tuesday if they have not watched the latest episode............

Finale was pretty good and even though it wasn't the most action packed (as far as action goes within this series) it built up to a really interesting close. Still a bit surprised as to why Jimmy just spurned the job in Santa Fe, which Kim made sound pretty prosperous, but I guess they'll go into that next series. It's rumoured that Gus Fring will be in it as part of Mike's storylines which could definitely be interesting.

aye definitely not the episode i was expecting - no real closure or anything. goddamn having to wait a year for the next series. this one seemed far too short. glad the next has an extra three episodes

hope the Gus info is right. it seems like a good logical progression for Mike's storyline (although maybe they wouldn't want to jump in to that too soon)

I get the feeling they didn't know/think there would be a second season when the finale was made- that's why there was no real cliff hanger or whatever else you'd expect from a finale. They had to have it made with the possibility that it could lead directly into Breaking Bad, rather than leading into a second series.

    • Wasn't just me who thought it was either oversold or inadequately setup for the event then? For Pride, over the weekend, where there's also acts in the large blue marquee that was to the right of the "arena" (for want of a better term), it's probably much better as people are dispersed more. Thought the band were great, as was Nick, though he was clearly struggling with his voice at times.
    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
