marcoolio
Then there were also a number of Dutch bands I could see going on to international festivals within a few years: Jett Rebel Kovacs Jacco Gardner and, of course, John Coffey! Gnomicide
I fairly recently (if you can count last July) came accross Dingus Khan for the first time. Great fun, I'd love to see them somewhere at Glastonbury... This link won't work because they never do on my works PC but here we go anyway.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDE1TWLjj9k
marcoolio
Also at discovered Eurosonic, and probably the most likely to appear at Glastonbury this year: Gavin James
Matt - Ed Banger Records
Surprised at the Famy suggestion... saw them at the great escape last year and they were unquestionably the worst band I've ever seen (including school talent competitions). Maybe it was an off day. Yeah the people I saw them with at Blissfields said similar things, having said that I enjoyed Peace when they first released an EP so I have a long history of liking the sound of bands to then give them an extended listen and wonder what on earth I was thinking - time will tell on the Famy front I guess. rjb94
Another great Icelandic band...Mammút. I think the bassist is the sister of Sigur Rós' drummer or something. Also, Cloud Castle Lake... http://youtu.be/TL4Xap3mYds

Did they open John Peel one day? We were camped right next to it and went to check them (if it was them) out.

Pbird81
Just found out about Abuela Coca (they've only been around since 1991....) but I could imagine this on a Sunny afternoon at West Holts or the Gully https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dz503M5pZE
marcoolio
Maybe you had to be there I can see that. I didn't think much of John Coffey until I was there at an in-store show, watching them (and their audience) turn the whole place upside down in the span of 15 minutes. Any band that can inspire mosh pits and crowd-surfing like this at an in-store, must be doing something right.
changingman67
Alvvays Caught them last Saturday in king Tuts in Glasgow. Excellent young canadian band. Picture a contemporary Teenage fanclub, with a female singer. Brilliant gig for January. Not new, but the Decemeberists have a new album out - going to see them in February - would love them at the park.

Amy Lawn
Given the new Siskiyou album my ears for a little bit because of Owen Pallett's involvement, really excellent stuff.
