Campervan field?

Any advice on which campervan field to choose. I'm going solo this year and have always camped before. I haven't managed to get a ticket the last seven years so I'm very excited

It's down to personal preference and depends on where you think you will be spending more time on site. I've always gone for East CV fields and that suits me fine. (Been on my own before too).

we have always been in East, but probably wouldn't be that bothered if we had to get a West one year. Check the map and look how far each side is from where you think you might end up late at night. We always seem to end up quite far away from East and then having a good long walk back.

That massive hill at East is not what you need at 5am when even walking isn't easy

Done both and East wins hands down . Don't worry about the hill. It's obviously personal choice, check out the other threads, but East feels more part of the festival. It felt like walking back to Cornwall each night staying in East last year!!

East for sure, but a lot of that is to do with the close proximity to many of my favourite areas of the festival. If I was a regular at the Other Stage/John Peel I may think differently.

Agreed. It really depends at which area of the fest you are most likely to be at the end of the night as you don't want a long trek across the site. If you're an Acoustic Stage goer then opt for East. If you're more a John Peel type I'd got for West.

My advice is neither! I took a caravan in 2011 and it was a massive pita trekking back every night on my own - if you must then take a tent as well and pitch it somewhere you can conveniently crash

I reckon it's worth it for a good night's sleep; warm and cosy with your own lavvy, cooker and fridge. It may be a drag at the end of the night but you'll be grateful come the morning.
