Top of the morning to ya!

Hi everyone. Was a lonely night with no one on night shift!! You were all having glastobating dreams no doubt. I think I have exhausted every thread on efests.

My neighbours are moving today so I doubt I'll get much sleep.

Earplugs??

Earplugs are a good tip

I use earphones as earplug type things to help me get over at festivals, and if having them in my ears doesnt work initially i just put that first mumford and sons album on and im fast asleep in no time

I can't do music to go to sleep. I need absolute silence and darkness... Hence, I don't sleep at festivals!

So, there are currently 11-12 17/18 year olds in my kitchen.

They are eating sausage sandwiches and croissants.

They are all dressed as (mostly Disney) princesses. Child 1 is Snow White. Their outfits are superb. their facial hair is enhancing the overall effect.

They start a pub crawl at 11am. Many, including Child 1 will be using fake ID, obviously.

I am a very proud daddy.

Thank fuck I'm at work...

:)

I tend to survive on 3-4h in each 24h, usually from 5 or 6am to 8 or 9am. Back to tent, 5 minutes reading my book - I LOVE doing this, just briefly, with the sounds of the festival around me, visor on, earplugs in, Goodnight Vienna!

Are they staying local for the crawl or heading off somewhere?

You are a very liberal daddy! Not so sure if I'd be letting my 17 yr old out on a pub crawl. Maybe that's why I don't have kids haha. Wish I had a dad like you!! My nieces drink but only in the safety of their home. (She says... They're probs getting pissed on street corners)! Hope child 1 has fun x

I'm in my tent by 6am and up before 8! There's too much happening to be sleeping x

Cool Dad alert!!! Haha!

We need a picture!

WOFFY you old fucker, good to see you, hope all is ok xxx

Well it's a bit damp here today, I got the bus as I am off on a jolly this afternoon to meet friends for late lunch/early dinner. I am going to get the train. That is two forms of public transport in one day! Yesterday I interacted with a small child. I'm gonna get a rash soon.

In the town, thurlow.

A school tradition. On the Thursday before the summer half-term, the year 13s go into school in their 'old' school uniform...i.e. back into blazers! Two of Child 1's mates went into Child 3's (Year 9) history lesson yesterday apologising for being late and sitting down in their blazers. Only to grin sheepishly and bomb out again. Teacher thought it was funny!

Then today (so, last day of ther half-term before they are on exam leave for A levels), they all dress up and go on a mammoth pub crawl...

TBH, cg, I'm very much divided about it.

They look great, have been planning it for ages and will have fun. And yes, all teenagers have a right of passage. My only real issue is that they're not going out simply to have fun, they're going out with the sole intention of getting drunk to the point of being incapacitated/in danger, and that's just not ok with me.

I have a slightly awkward 'relationship' with alcohol, as I've never liked it and never drunk...well 3 times in 45 years...details shared at GF. But my kids have 3 of 4 grandparents who are/were alcoholics, so I want them to grow up enjoying, but respecting etc.

And although my annual festival gives me the chance to get off my tits a bit, I'm 45, sensible and have no wish ever to get so mashed that I am a dribbling vegetable...

Parenthood, eh...?

Morning earth children! The whole country is in frenzy today with the Marriage Equality Referendum, glad to see so many people fighting for the cause! :)

Ooh is that today? I shall keep an ear on the news! I vote we don't get into politics too much here though, and stick with what we're good at- sun worship!

It is today indeed! Results by tomorrow morning I believe!

I agree, let's not discuss politics, that's a whole different kettle of fish!

Let's get this rain business out of the way now so it can be dry in 5 weeks!
