BBC coverage - terrible

Oh my gosh the BBC coverage is awful.

This is the first time in 7 that I've not been (best mate getting married tomorrow-another, very bitter story) so I never normally see it. I'm just watching some of the first bbc 2 coverage, it is terrible, presenters are beyond crap, no idea bout the festival, in sure it never used to be this bad in the old days.

It doesn't give an idea of what the festival is like at all.

Seems all like Radio 1 but on tv.

Must get back to the farm next year.

It is beyond awful! When we couldn't tickets this year we consoled ourselves that we would be watching it in the dry and warm with cold drinks in hand. I may have to record it all and fast-forward through the crappy presenter bits.

Ticket gods be good to us for next year, olive and I have already done our sacrifice!

PS: Glad there's still someone around. I was feeling a bit lonely the last couple of days.

It's great. Just watch the streams, use the Iplayer for stuff you missed and record the stuff with presenters so you can skip through them. There's that much coverage there's no reason to sit through anyone talking

Ok I had only watched 2 mins of it when I made the last comment, but having watched the last 10 mins I am not even sure I would want to go if I did not know the place better after watching that. The coverage has to get better.

I'd just like a little less Greg James & Gemma Cairney! ( a lot less, NO Greg James & Gemma Cairney)

I always thought people who said it was better watching it at home in the warm & dry were a bit simple, but I would be soaked to the skin & dipped in mud at half hourly intervals for 5 days more than happily just to avoid those two!

I am going to try this streaming thing - I am not sure my iPad 1 is up to it though!

Must say I thought the presenting and performing was rubbish until Arcade Fire. Everyone else just sounded dreadfully out of tune, especially Lily Allen, Rudimental and Haim (sadly!).

The presenters are terrible during the evening, Jo Whiley was like a breath of fresh air. That Gemma is a complete twat, why she needs to shout I don't know. Paolo Nutini looked completely terrified of her.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
