  1. Yip, most of our group arrived on the overnight edinburgh bus so we were there for gates opening. Had some pals from London join us early afternoon and they were able to pitch up beside us no bother. By Thursday pm it was busy by Rivermead standards but still decent compared to other areas.
  2. Fellow Rivermead camper here. We camped in the reduced space last year and it was grand. Not quite as roomy as previous years still had space around us.
  3. 7 in our group last year (4 regular attendees, 2 newbies and 1 returning after 20 years). None of us are trying this year. Mixture of cost and a couple heading to Germany for the euros.
  4. Crazy P at the glade was fine. Fairly big crowd but still room to boogie.
  5. leftfield at the barrowlands last night. Ooft. What a gig.
  6. Hot Chip No idea yet Alt J / Neville Staples
  7. Same for me. Happy days.
  8. He'll most likely be on stage with Young Fathers as well. Share the same studio in Leith and was their support on the recent tour (as well as part of their band). Nice lad as well. See ya there!
  9. Been on that very seetickets coach the last 2 festivals. Its not as bad as it sounds. On the return journey I just slept most of the way. Got main sale tickets this year but we've still opted for an overnight National express from Edinburgh. Due it at gate A about 7.30am I think. The worst part for me is the journey down as I can't get to sleep due to sheer excitement. Just have a reasonably early night on Wednesday (midnight - 1am) to try and catch up a bit.
  10. Slamboree (t&c somewhere) twitter bio = An anarchic pack of revolutionary musicians and performers driven by bass, drums and pure insanity. Scalping (truth stage)

    Glastocam!

I like the flappity flappy noise it makes in the breeze.
  12. Don't think anybody knows. Glade has been suggested as a possibility. No idea how popular they actually are now, I know they're popular on this forum but not sure about the younger attendees. Personally I love them and have never seen a bad gig (reckon I'm well into double figures gigwise). Seeing them in Glasgow a couple of weeks before Glastonbury so not sure if I'll catch them on the farm or not. All depends on clashes!
  13. Fully expect to end up somewhere between 350 and 400. Any less is a bonus. 4 or 5 pints each day (£35), one big meal and a mini munch each day (£20), £15 on miscellaneous shite each day (postcards, cheeky wee cocktail, mixer for spirits that I'll be bringing with me, etc etc). Like some previous posters this is my main holiday of the year so I don't grudge the spending.

Rivermead West camping also now staff camping. Camped there my last 3 visits, loved it. Time to find somewhere new!
  15. Stumbled across them a couple of years ago late night in Crossaint Nuef, they were excellent. One of my fav gigs that year.

Apologies for gatecrashing. Might join the next one when I'm not so 'Gillespied'. Peace x
  17. I took a trip to the Oxfam shop in Nicolson Street Edinburgh yesterday afternoon as a final attempt to get some friends tickets after an unsuccessful resale in the morning. Bought a couple but no joy. I reckon there was at least 20 bars left in the display at the till. If anyone has friends in Edinburgh might be worth calling in a favour.

  19. Apologies if old news, no Orbital ☹️ https://www.rollingstone.co.uk/music/news/orbital-on-optical-delusion-and-joining-forces-with-sleaford-mods-26956/
  20. Young Fathers LCD Soundsystem Orbital Snapped Ankles Belle and Sebastian
  21. Stumbled across Scalping in the Crossaint Neuf a couple of years ago. Had never heard of them but they were brilliant.
  22. I'm one of them. Think it's a great booking for the festival and genuinely delighted for those who want to see him. It's just not my bag so I'll defo be elsewhere as will my 5 mates. This will only be my 4th Glastonbury and I've spent a total of 20 mins at the big pointy stage to date (ELO 2016, left because I was bored). That's the beauty of this festival, different strokes for different folks.
  23. Rivermead (West Side) Pros : not far from gate A and we were all on buses. At no point does it get busy busy. Fairly quiet campsite at night due to location. No passing traffic as its basically a cul de sac. Neighbours have always been great (camped here last 3 festivals). Close enough to JP, Pyramid, other and silver Hayes. Cons : not many to be fair. A fair hike back from SE corner but we actually don't mind that. The stumble home has become part of the night for us.
