Low flying aircraft over Frome today also, coming from the Glasto direction. It's not unusual in this area. Probably an army manoeuvre.

Used to come over the site from RAF Lineham or Hullavington, but I believe (?) that both bases are now decommissioned and the remaining Hercules fleet relocated elsewhere. I'm guessing now maybe they are coming over from Yeovil? Back in the day Concorde did a low pass over the site out of Filton (early '90's?). Over the years the Hercules fleet used to use the festival when it was in full swing in training exercises - apparently from the air it very closely resembles a refugee camp and so is ideal for training for low pass drop runs...

Do they still not use Lineham for training pilots on the big planes? We get the buggers flying over us most days - we're closer to Bath. Suspect youd get the same ones down in Frome as they circle round. That bloody low sometimes they could lean out and nick yr crisps.
